It was Cherry Valance. Great just the person I wanted to see. (Note the sarcasm.) "What do you want soc?" I said harashly. "I know why you didn't come to school." Cherry said. "What?" "You didn't come because your sleeping with socs and greasers." "I am not! Who said?" "Randy." "How many people have heard this?" "The whole school. Edith don't worry, I don't think its true. I heard what happened to your brother and you had to stay home and take care of him. I will tell the school that it isn't true. Trust me." Cherry said. She was being nice all of a sudden. "Why are you being nice?" I asked. "Edith, I know how it feels having a rumor that isn't even true. I'm here to help you." "Alright thanks." "Your welcome." "Hey before I leave can I tell you something?" She asked. "Sure what's up?" "Remember that one time you got stabbed?" "Yeah why?" "Well I was the person who took you to the hospital. I saw you lying there and I felt bad so I put you in my car and drove you there. I didn't stay there because I thought you would have gotten mad because of the whole argument with your boyfriend." "Oh my gosh. Thanks Cherry. You saved my life. And he isn't my boyfriend." I said then hugged her. "Your welcome. Well I should get going goodbye Edith." She said as she pulled away fom the hug. I waved bye and shut the door. Maybe Cherry wasn't a bad person after all.
I closed the door and made some coffee. "Hey I heard you talking to someone who was it?" Two-bit asked. "Oh just a girl." "Hmm. Okay then. I'm going to shower." "Okay have fun." I said. He chuckled and went to shower. I finished my coffee and I went to wash the dishes. As I was washing them I heard the phone ring. I stopped with the dishes. "Hello?" I said. "Sweetheart? Its your mother." "Hi mom. How you been?" "Ive been good. What about you?" "We have been okay. When you coming back?" "Maybe in 2 weeks." "Oh okay. Well I have to go. Bye mom." "Bye. Tell Keith I said Hi." "Alright." I hung up and went to the couch. I saw that Pony wasn't there anymore. "Ponyboy?" I called out. No answer. I knew what would get his attention. "Horseman?" "Yes?" I laughed. "Where were you?" "In the bathroom." "Oh"
Two-bit got out of the shower and decided to go to the Curtis House. He got ready but I stayed in my pajamas I didn't want to get ready. I put my hair in a messy bun and we headed straight to the Curtis House. "Hey Baby!" Someone said. It can't be a Soc because we didn't hear any mustang engine. We turned around and saw a drunk person. "Let's go have some fun?" We went to go see who it was and it was a friend of Two-bit's. Two-bit and I were laughing our butts off. His friend, George, was looking at us weird. Pony was too. "George go home your drunk." I said. "You know my name?" He asked. "Yeah." "We are meant to be. Marry me!" He said. Two-bit, Pony and I were laughing. "Buddy its Two-bit." Two-bit told George. "Two-bit your just in time I just asked this girl to marry me." "George that girl is my sister. You can't marry her. She's my little baby sister." He looked at Two-bit and I. "I should get going. Good Afternoon Girlfriend." He said then left. Oh Gosh, we were still laughing at him. "You have older people hitting on you too?" Pony asked. "What can I say no one can resist Edith Matthews." I said. He chuckled.
We arrived to the Curtis House and they all attacked Two-bit with hugs, even Dally. Pony and I joined in. "Hey Ariana." Pony greeted and gave her a kiss. "Hey Ponyboy." They went outside of the house. I'm guessing to go make out or something. I sat on the couch and Soda sat next to me. "Hey Edith." "Hey Soda." "Want to get something to eat?" He asked. "Sure." "Let's go to the Dingo or Jays?" "What's the difference they both sell the same food?" "Jays has Ice Cream." "Your right let's go to Jays." "You sure you want to go in your PJs?" He asked. "Yeah. I don't care what people say." "Hey Two-bit I'm taking Edith to Jays. Is that okay?" Soda asked Two-bit. "Yeah, that's fine. Don't let any guy touch her. Take care of her." Two-bit told Soda. "Yes Sir." "Hey Soda, take my truck its dark outside." Darry said. "Alright." Soda grabbed the keys and we went in the truck.
We were going to Jays when mine and Soda's song came on. "Jailhouse Rock." We were singing at the top of our lungs. I was laughing so hard when Soda was singing cause he does this little funny dance with the song. The song was over when we arrived to Jays. In Jays you can go inside and order and eat there or you can order from your car and eat there. "Hi Welcome to Jays! May I take you order?" The waitress asked us. It surprised me that she wasn't trying to flirt with Soda. I looked at her hand and noticed a ring. She was engaged! "I will have a cheeseburger and fries with a pepsi. Make the meal a medium?" Soda ordered. "What about you beautiful?" She asked. "He already ordered why are you asking him again?" I said. "I'm talking about you." She said laughing. "Oh. Gee thanks. And I will have chili cheese fries with a coke." "Alright coming right up." She said and we nodded. Soda and I were talking until they brought us our food. "Have a nice date." The waitress said. Before I said that it wasn't a date she left, so I couldn't tell her. "Aww we're on a date." Soda teased. "Soda you want to get hit?" I asked. "No." He said and then flashed me his million dollar smile. "Your lucky your cute." "What's that supposed to mean?" "It means that I would punch you in the face but since you have a reputation of being cute I'm going to let you keep it unless you keep saying its a date." "Well it is. Isn't it?" He said with that smile of his. "Also your lucky your my best friend." I said rolling my eyes. He laughed. We finished eating and we paid. I only helped out with three dollars, Soda didn't let me pay a lot. "Where next?" He asked. "I need to get wrapping paper. Can you take me to the store?" I asked. "Sure." He drove us straight to the store.
