I have 8 days to pick out something for the party. Its not going to be easy. "Ariana I need your help!" I yelled from the kitchen. "What's wrong?" She asked from the living room. "Get your ass over here and you'll find out." I called back. She came in. "What do you want?" She asked. I just smiled. "What?" "Johnny asked me to the New Years party." I said. "What! Really!" She yelled. "Shut up don't say anything!" "I won't but why do you need my help?" "I need help on a dress. Can you help?" "Of course! We can go tomorrow." She said. "Alright thanks!" I said as I hugged her. This is going to be tough. "Edith, Mickey is on Tv." Two-bit called out. "Coming!"
I went back to the living room to go watch Mickey. There was a seat in between Johnny and Soda. I sat in between them but I got tired and put my head on Johnny's lap and my feet on Soda. Johnny started to play with my hair and Soda was playing with my toes. I looked at Soda and he smiled. Johnny looked at Soda. I wonder if Johnny is jealous of Soda. "Hey Johnny." I whispered to him. "Yeah?" He said as he came closer to my face. "Want to hang out? Let's go to the lot?" I asked him. "Sure." "Hold on let me ask Two-bit." He nodded. I flicked Two-bit on the head. He looked up. "Can Johnny and I go to the lot?" I whispered in his ear. "Yeah. Be careful." He whispered back. Ariana and Pony been gonna for a while. I wonder where they went. Johnny and I got up. Before we left I turned around because I felt eyes on me. I saw Soda staring at us. I didn't want to say anything so I just left. "So Johnny, how is your Christmas?" I asked. "Well its better now because I get to be with you." He said and blushed. I blushed also. We walked to the lot. We laid down. "Hey Edith?" He spoke up. "Yeah?" I looked at him. Was this the day? The day Johnny was going to ask me to be his girlfriend. "Thanks for everything." "You're welcome." "You want ice cream?" He asked. "Yeah." Even though it was cold, I still wanted ice cream.
We got up and went to the ice cream parlor. Johnny had given me his jean jacket. It wasn't really cold but he gave it to me either way. Honestly Johnny would be a great boyfriend but what if he doesn't likes me anymore. We arrived and he told me to order. I got Rocky Road and he got Vanilla. He paid and we left the parlor. Socs were there so we just got our ice cream and left. We didn't want any trouble today. "We should go to the drive in." He said. It took me a while to answer because he left me that one time, to go with Amber. "Yeah. Lets go." Johnny had his arm around me. We sneaked in the hole Dallas had made. "Want popcorn?" He asked. "Sure." "I will go get it stay here for no one can take our seats." He said and I nodded. I saw Cherry and Marcia. What were they doing here without a car? Cherry instantly saw me. "Hey Edith." She greeted. "Oh Hey Cherry?" "Your here alone?" She asked. "Actually I'm here with Johnny." "Oh. Is that your boyfriend?" She asked. "No." "Cherry why are you talking to the greaser?" Marcia asked. "She is my friend Marcia, and if you can't accept that Edith and I are friends then you can stop being my friend." Cherry snapped at Marcia. Marcia just looked at me with anger. "I'm going to check on Johnny, can you save my seat?" I asked Cherry. "Yes." Cherry said. I went to the place where they sell the popcorn and other stuff. There some socs messing with Johnny. Gosh why did I let him go alone. "Hey leave him alone!" I yelled at them. "Oh yeah. What are you going to do about it!" They left Johnny and came to me. "Why do you have to be such snobs and mess with us?" "Snobs? Did your mother teach you that." "No but my brother taught me this." I said and then I punched him straight in the nose. He started to bleed a lot. I grabbed Johnny's hand and we started to run. We ran all the way to the Curtis House.
We entered and we were catching our breath. "What happen?" Darry asked. "Trouble...with...some Socs...at the drive in." I said in between breaths. "Are you alright?" Darry asked. "Yeah we're fine." Johnny said. "Okay. I made some cake, if you want some. I'm going to sleep." He said. "Alright thanks Dar Bear. Goodnight." I said. He smiled and went to his room.
Darry's P.O.V
Did I really leave them alone? They aren't stupid to do anything like that. I'm tired I should get rest.
Edith's P.O.V
Nobody was at the Curtis House so Johnny and I just cuddled on the couch watching a movie. "Best Date Ever." I heard Johnny mumble. "I know. Best date ever." I said and he looked down on me. We smiled and he came closer to my face. We were one inch away from each other's faces. "You know I like this view. Seeing your cute face close up." I said and he laughed. He came closer and we kissed. He gave me my first make-out session right there. "You were the first person I've made out with before." He confessed. "Dont worry you were the first person I made out with too." He kissed me once more and when we pulled away we saw Ariana and Pony looking at us. "Hey! Where were you guys at?" I asked. "On a date." Pony answered. "Edith. Kitchen now." Ariana said. "Okay mom." I said. "Johnny. Outside now." Pony said. "Okay dad." He said. Johnny and I laughed. We got up from the couch and went to our places.
"You can't be kissing him around like that!" Ariana told me. "Why?" I asked while rolling my eyes. "What if Two-bit saw?" "Then he sees." "Edith be careful next time alright." "Okay mom." I said. "And stop calling me mom. I'm not old!" "You sure are acting like one though." "Your stupid. Let's bake cookies?" She asked. "Alright."
Johnny's P.O.V
I went outside with Pony. "Did Edith teach you all those smart comments?" Pony asked. "Well I kind of picked them up when she uses them." I said. He nodded and we were smoking a cigarette. "You sure you want to be kissing Edith in the house?" He asked. "Well I mean I'm in love with her." I said. He looked at me with surpise. "You're in love with Edith?" "Yeah. I found out when the whole Amber thing happened. When we were yelling at each other and she told me that she hated me, that's when I realized that I love her." I explained. "Oh thats good. Why don't you ask her to be your girlfriend?" Pony asked. "I am. At the New Years Party." "What time?" "Midnight. After I give her a New Years Kiss." I replied. His eyes went wide. "What?" "Your finally going to make a move!" He said. I laughed. "Not really, we've been kissing every once in a while. Let's keep this talk between me and you?" I asked. "Alright"
"Stupid bitch!" I heard Edith yell. Pony and I looked at each other. "I think they are fighting." Pony said. "Yeah let's go check because you know how Edith gets." I said. We put our cigarettes out and ran into the house. "What happen?" I asked. "Edith got burned while taking the cookies out. She was being a dumbass and didn't use gloves." Ariana explained then she got hit with a cookie that Edith threw at her. "Hey!" "What?" Edith asked. "Stop that!" Ariana yelled at her. Edith just smirked. I gave her the 'Are you okay ?' face. She just looked at me and didn't say anything. She went outside the house. "What's Wrong with her?" I asked. "I don't know." They both said. Darry came down stairs. "What happen?" He asked. "Edith broke down and she left." Pony said. "Uh-oh." Darry replied.
