Darry's P.O.V
"Did any of you guys call her something?" I asked. "Ari called her a dumbass and then Edith threw a cookie at Ariana's face." Pony answered. I ran out of the house to look for her. Johnny, Pony, and Ariana just stayed there shocked. Edith is very sensitive at times when someone calls her stupid or dumbass. Edith used to deal with depression not that long ago. Since Two-bit and I are like a fatherly figure to her she will tell us everything but she will tell me more stuff than Two-bit. When Edith was in middle school she was bullied and was dealing with depression. I remember when she came home crying because someone had bullied her to the point where she just wanted to kill herself. After she stopped being bullied she became so much stronger and tough. That's why she ran out of the house because memories are coming back. She love going to the lot so I went to check there. I saw her crying. "Hey Princess." I said softly. "Please leave me alone." She replied. "Let's talk?" "Okay Darry." "What happened?" "Ariana called me a dumbass and I've been feeling really weak but I don't show it. I'm glad I haven't went back to school because of a stupid rumor that has passed on. Darry what if the depression comes back?" She said with worry in her eyes. I felt bad for her. "Princess, that's not going to happen again. Trust me." She didn't say anything but hugged me. She was sobbing in my chest. She was scared of having depression again and I know it. "Don't tell anyone anything please. Not even Two-bit, I don't want him to worry or Johnny." "I won't." Everyone knew that Johnny and Edith like each other except for them. They can't see that they both like each other. It gets me frustrated sometimes. "Can we go home?" She said wiping her tears. "Sure thing Princess." We got up and we went home.
"Hey Edith." Johnny said. "Hi." Edith said quietly. Johnny hugged her and kissed her forehead. They will be a good couple together. "What's wrong?" I heard Johnny whisper to her. "Nothing." She said quietly. "Edith, Baby you know you can tell me anything." "Yeah I know but its nothing just got to dramatic." She said with hurt in her voice. "Well I'm here of anything. Okay?" "Okay." "Hey Edith if you want you can go to sleep in the guest room. Johnny you can too if you'd like." I spoke up. "Yeah. That would be great." Edith said. "No funny business though." I said. "Dont worry." Johnny said. I'm glad Johnny has respect towards girls especially Edith. They went to the room. I went to check on Ariana and Pony. They were asleep. "Goodnight kids." I said. "Goodnight." They replied.
Edith's P.O.V
I'm scared of getting depression again. That was the only thing on my mind. Johnny had laid down next to me I was facing right and he was facing left. I was silently crying not too loud for Johnny to hear. "Edith are you okay?" He asked. "Yeah I'm fine." "Look at me." I wiped my eyes forgetting that I had mascara on. I turned around and he hugged me instantly. "Whatever it is I'm going to help you through it okay." Johnny said. "Thanks Johnny." "Edith look at me." I turned around and stare into his eyes. "I love you a lot." I smiled and hugged him. He pulled me closer to him and we fell asleep. Could I be falling in love with Johnny?
*Next Day*
I woke up with Johnny's arms around me. He was already awake and he was just staring at me. "Creep." I said and he started to laugh. "You sleep cute." "You told me that before." He chuckled. "I don't want to get up." I told him. "Me either." "Should we stay in bed all day?" I asked. "I don't know." "Probably not because they are going to make us get up anyways." We got up and went to the kitchen. I saw Ariana. "Hey bestfriend!" I said and hugged her. "Hey are you okay from last night?" She asked. "Yeah I'm good. I just overreacted." "Well let's go get your dress for the party!" She said happy. I looked at her and she was smiling like a little kid on Christmas Day. "Okay around 4:30. We can go and look at dresses. Have you got yours yet?" I asked. "Sadly, no but I'm going to get on today when we shop for dresses." She said smiling. I chuckled. I got a plate of cereal because they haven't made any breakfast. I went to get milk when I noticed that my cereal was gone. I looked for it. I think Ariana took it. "Hey best friend? Did you take my cereal ?" "No!" She replied. I looked at the table and it still wasn't there. I grabbed another bowl and poured cereal and milk and started eating it. That's when Johnny came in with a bowl and poured milk in it. I looked at it and it was the cereal that I had poured for myself. I looked at him. "What? I needed milk." He said. I handed him the milk. "That was my cereal." I said. "Oh I know that's why I took it." He said with a smile. I laughed.
"What's for breakfast?" I heard Ponyboy say. "Food." I replied. "No duh. Who cooked?" "No one. I ate cereal." "Lazy bum." "Thanks Horseman." He got eggs, bacon, and toast. "Do you even know how to cook?" He asked me. "Yeah I cooked on thanksgiving and other days. I was tired today and I didn't want to cook." I said with a cheesy smile. "Try this." He sad giving me a piece of bacon. I tasted and it was delicious. Wow that boy can cook. "This is amazing Horseman! How did you learn to make it taste this good?" "I got my ways short one." I smiled.
After many hours of waiting for the gang came they showed up. Two-bit and Dally came with hangovers. Steve with chocolate over his face. Darry woke up with his hair not greased and he kept it like that. Soda woke up with no shirt on. I'm not gonna lie I couldn't stop staring. Ariana saw me lookin and she pulled me aside. "You got the hots for Soda?" Ariana asked. "No!" I said. "Sure you don't?" "I don't! I like Johnny!" I said. "What's this about Johnny?" I heard Two-bit say. "Nothing butt out." Ariana said. "Okay?" He said confused. I laughed. "Let go buy our dresses now???" She asked. "Okay." "Hey guys we are going to buy our dresses be back in a few hours." We told the gang. "Be safe!" They said. We nodded and left.
There were socs around the area just our luck.
