I slam my hand down on my alarm clock as soon as it goes off dreading this first day at the new school and throw the blankets off my legs. Getting up and going to my bathroom to toss some water on my face to wake myself up, I grab my toothbrush and my hands automatically start their routine. I rinse my mouth out and reach under the cabinet to grab my hair curler, and get to work on my head and face. Forty-five minutes later I was dressed and ready to go and so was mom. Getting in the car and silently praying for a dry day with no stupid rain, mom and I make our way to town.

"Oh look there's actually traffic."

Her face lights up with a pretty smile and she shakes her head. "What am I gonna do with you huh? Of course there's traffic, it is a school."

"Okay I see your point, you can drop me off here."

"Did you forget anything Avery?"

Looking around the seat to make sure, I shake my head no when I realize I have everything that was needed. "No I got it all. I have to go it's time to face the fire squad, love you."

"I love you too sweetheart, have a great day!"

I walk up the pathway that leads to the front office and everyone, and I do mean everyone, is staring. Rolling my eyes, I keep going but I take notice that my clothes didn't look to different from anybody else and was glad that I had at least one thing right. I made my way to the office safe and sound and wait in line to get my schedule.

"How may I help you dear?" She was a bright and cheerful person for it to be eight in the morning. I just didn't understand.

"Yeah, I'm new here and need my schedule."

"Name please."

"Avery Peters."

"Just let me print this out and you can be on your way alright." Shaking my head with a slight smile I patiently await the piece of paper that was going to tell me which rooms of hell I would have to endure for the rest of the year.

"Okay here we go, have a nice day."

"You too."

1st period- Ben Danner. 2nd period- Marsha Daylani. 3rd period-Kari Turner. 4th period-Jack Bennings. LUNCH 5th period- coach Luke West. 6th period-Tabitha Warner. 7th period-Gavin Reese.

Well, Mr. Danner here I come. I find the English room faster than I thought was possible but it was only a hall over so I was able to pull this off before the last bell rang. I walk up to Mr. Danner who looked to be in his early thirties with his combed back black hair and brown eyes, not to shabby if I do say so myself. "Hi Mr. Danner, I'm Avery Peters, your new student."

"Hi Avery, just find a seat and relax for today. Just listen so we can see what you need to catch up on." The only empty seat in this run down class room was in the back left corner and I was actually happy about where I was sitting. The last thing I needed was to be looked at the whole time here would make me go crazy.

I was listening to Mr. Danner talk about the last page of the work book he had everyone doing when the bell rang. I gathered my things and made my way to my art class. It's actually my favorite class because it was a fun and easy elective, so why not take it.... right?

"Hello and welcome. I'm Mrs. Daylani and you must be Avery." I like her already. She was fast, fun, and very bright.

"Yes, I'm your new student." She gathers a few papers from her desk and puts them in a pile. She walks over to me and hands me the papers explaining what they were for.

"These are your guidelines for what we will be working on for the rest of the year, so take these and go over there and have a seat."

I take my seat in the back and look through the papers that were stapled together and it looked like this class wasn't going to be too bad after all. The skin on the back of my neck prickled with the feeling that someone was watching me. I quickly turn and notice the very large boy sitting three rows over in the back on the right side of the room. He appeared to be staring at me from under his dark blue hood of the jacket that he was wearing.
