Epilogue...sounds like bells

"Babe, did you get my bag?"

"Yes love, it's in the car."

"Okay...i'm going to say bye to mom now."

I give her a wink as she runs back into the house. I bet you guys are really confused right now...let me tell you what happened. Before we got home, Ave's mom saw Aunt Pam before she came in and she called 911 and said the address and left the phone on the counter. The cops were on the way and we got their a few minutes before they did. They got the confession from Aunt Pam and they were already in the house, we just didn't know, but that was part of their plan.

Unfortunately because Pam went to pull the trigger, they pulled it before she did. It was sad really. Especially since she really just wanted to be honest from the start. Everyone was guilty. Aunt Pam, my mom, my dad, and uncle Jack. Speaking of him...he went to prison as an accessory. He told the cops everything and when the statement went out that i was never a murderer people went nuts. "Oh..that poor boy!" Well that "boy" didn't need your help then and he doesn't now. I have Avery, she's the only thing i need and if you guys remembered what i told you, i think you have this page pretty figured out already. Avery decided to go to Duke and i got into a community college near her college and that was fine with the both of us. My birthday came and went and i got my money and the rest of my parents money that Jack had. He didn't need it because he got fifteen years in state pen.

I bought me and Ave cars and i also paid for her tuition so her mom could keep her money so she can finish paying for reconstruction on the house. She decided to stay. I bought my girl a house..no a home. She fell in love with it immediately. Now my right pocket is burning from the little blue box that's sitting in it. I told Avery i wanted to go somewhere before we left.

I walk up to the front door and go inside my old home for the last time for a while. Her mom knew what was up so she winked at me from the corner of her eye and gave me the go ahead.

"Hey babe, you ready for the surprise yet?"

" Do i even want to know what you're up too?"

I didn't reply, i just pulled her out the back door. It was about a ten minute or so walk and when we got there she was smiling.

"Aww, this is where we had our first date...the meadow!"

We took a seat in the flowers and layed there talking about this and that for a while.

"Hey Ave, i wanted to ask you something."

"What's up?"

I rolled over and grabbed her hands so that she was standing up. I took her precious face in my hands and kissed her until she couldn't breathe. Her cheeks were flushed and her pulse was racing, i could feel it myself. I kept ahold of her hands and took a step back and got down on one knee. I would always stay this way because a king always kneels before his queen, and that is exactly what she was...my queen.

She gasped as realization took ahold of her features.

"Avery... Do you love me?"

She nodded her head." Yes, very much."

"Will you do something for me then?"

She nodded her head again.

"Will you marry me?"

Tears leeked out of her eyes and she started jumping up and down screaming yes at the top of her lungs. I'm glad she's excited because i was sweating like a pig. I took the box out of my pocket and placed the three carat diamond on her finger where it would stay for the rest of her life. I got up and lifted her in my arms so i could spin her in circles. Her face was wet with tears and i couldn't stop smiling. I finally had everything i ever wanted...and it was right here with my bride.

"Wait, did you quote A walk to remember?"

"Uhh, maybe i did...maybe i didn't."

Wow...she's good.

"I always knew you were a keeper. I love you Spike."

"I love you too, baby."

We turn and leave these woods for the last time, and this time instead of her leading me, i'm going to be HER man and lead her.
