full moon

I get home and go straight to the fridge. Dumping my bag on the floor, i search for food only to realize that we needed to get some stuff from the store.

"Great, just great."

I close the door and see a twenty dollar bill taped to a note.  Mom says to get pizza and to call her if they won't deliver, nice .  I dig my phone from my pocket and call the number on the card.

" Paul's Pizza Place, how can i help you?"

"Hi, i was wondering if you delivered out to Bellview Drive ?"

"Mam, are you at the Miller house?"

Why do people keep asking that. "Yes i am.... why?"

"Mam, i'm sorry we can't deliver there."

Click.  What the...hell.

"Well, thanks a lot lady."

I text my mom and tell her that she's gonna have to bring it home instead.  Getting my bag, i go upstairs and open my window and take a seat so i could do my homework.  I decided to re-read the chemistry chapter again since we were gonna have a quiz on it tomorrow. I was up to par on the stuff that they were teaching so that was cool, nothing extra for me to do i guess.

Two hours later i get a text from mom saying that she was in the driveway and i needed to help carry the pizzas. I run down to get the food that i was starving for.

"Hey mom, how was your day?"

"Fine. Not too busy, but not so slow that i was bored.  How about you, did you make any new friends at school?"

Other than a stalker with a supposed homicidal rage no.  "No, i think i'm more interested in school right now than friends.  Did you make a new friend?"

We were laughing and i was glad she needed a reason to do that more often, my mom was beautiful.  "Well, my boss is nice and me and my new team went out to lunch, does that count?"

"Well is your boss male or female?  I'm glad u went out for lunch though you need social action!"

"For starters my boss is male, and yes i realized i needed to get out some so i went to get food and when did you turn forty?"

We went into the kitchen, got the paper plates and sat down to eat.  "You know, i had pizza for lunch, but this is great.  We really need to go to the store because i almost had a stroke when i came home to an empty fridge."

"Your right. So if i give you my keys and some money will you go to the store and go shopping?"  I didn't mind food shopping and she had been on her feet all day, at least i got a homework break already.

"Sure, you have been walking all day so i'll go."

Getting into the car, i put the address of the nearest store into my GPS and i'm on my way.  It takes me to a Wal-Mart about fifteen minutes from my house, so i get a cart and go inside.   I get some veggies, fruits, and pastas.  Making my way over to the meat department i decide on not getting hamburger meat.  I hate the stuff, unless we really needed it mom didn't buy it because i usually wouldn't eat whatever she put out.  Getting some sausage, chicken, pork, and some fish i head over to toiletries.  I needed shampoo so i got some of that and some soap and got my mom another bottle of soap too just in case. Making my way to the check out line i was in a hurry to get home, i had been here about an hour so it was time to go. Paying the cashier i got ready to walk out the door when i noticed that it had started raining, no pouring.

 "Crap."

I run out and throw the stuff in the back seat and slowly put the car in reverse.  I was almost home when i  saw something standing in the road. It was raining really hard so it was hard to tell so i hit my brakes and my car slid sideways,  coming to a stop.  I looked out the windshield and saw that it was a person.  "What the hell?"  I get out of the car and what i see stops me.  Oh crap it's him, stalker guy!

" Hey, dude!  What the hell are you doing in the road? Are you okay, do you need help or something?"

He stops walking and turns around and i swear i die.  This was the hottest guy i had ever seen in my life. Dark wet hair hung to his face and his cheekbones were so pronounced they almost cast shadows. His lips were full and pink, and his eyes were a light brown, but they were sad.  Like he had been alive for a hundred years and knew every secret and couldn't tell the tale.  His hood was up earlier when it was dry, but now that the rain was pouring down, so was his hood.  He hadn't said a word.  He just stood there starring at me like a wounded animal and i just couldn't leave him, i didn't have the heart regardless of the earlier warning.

" Do you need a ride, you could get sick." My mom had raised me to be a lady, a sassy mouthed lady, but a lady none the less.  He looked like he wanted the ride, but i had a feeling that he wasn't gonna take it and that kinda pissed me off.  "Look man, it's just a ride okay.  I don't want to leave you here, i'll feel like shit! So please just get in the car."  Two words, just two words and it was all he gave me.

 "I can't."

With that he turned and just kept walking.  He didn't even bother with his hood, which would be pointless because he was soaked down to the bone.

His voice was husky, deep, and smooth.  It seeped it's way into my body and unlocked feelings i wasn't aware that i had.   Getting back into the car i drove off and went around him and went straight home.  I beeped the horn when i pulled up and my mom came out with an umbrella ( that i wont forget next time) and helped me get the food into the house.

"I got you some soap in case you were out."

"Oh thank God, i was hanging by a thread.  Good thing i taught you to think ahead."

" I know right."  We put the groceries up and i told mom i was gonna go take a shower."

" Okay, have a good night Avery, i'll see you in the morning." She kisses my cheek and we go our separate ways.

I go into the bathroom and put my dirty clothes in the basket and turn on the shower.   The hot water was soothing my frazzled nerves because of what happened earlier.  He was gorgeous, with a God like beauty.  His skin was wet and his face was flushed, but he looked so miserable.  What happened to him? I needed to find that Jessie chick and ask her about it.  I wanted to ask him, but i don't think that would work out though, he kind of scared me.  He made me nervous. Why would he stare at me all day like that and then when i give him a ride him decline my offer?  Something wasn't adding up here, if he was a cold blooded killer wouldn't he be sweet and kind of eager?  I had read a book last year for a project that i was doing and it talked about serial killers and sociopaths and stuff like that.  Wouldn't he be charming and smooth, only to turn an unsuspected one-eighty?

Getting out of the shower and putting on my silk night gown i walk over to the window seal and sit down on the flowery cushioned seat there and look outside.  The moon was full tonight and so big.  I wonder what he was doing right now? Was he warm and dry, was he as curious about me as i was him?  Well no matter what i was going to get some answers tomorrow either way. I had to know what happened.  I had to know more about this guy and why he was hated by a whole town.  Getting in my bed and turning off my light, i grabbed my dad's shirt and went to sleep .  That night i had dreams of a beautiful boy with haunted light brown eyes that burned through to my soul.
