I woke up without Spike's arms around me and i didn't like it one bit.  Did he even come to bed last night?  I would understand if he didn't but still. I'm so worried about him.  I hope we get this figured out and soon.  I checked my phone for the time hopeing we weren't going to be late for the appointment that we had with the lawyer today. It's nine-thirty and we had to be there at eleven so we were good, but now i have to go and find my boyfriend!  I throw off the blankets and put on my robe, not bothering to change first.  As i make my way downstairs i coud smell breakfast cooking from the kitchen.  I reach the bottom of the stairs and thank God he was here and okay.  He was the one that created the smell and i just stood there for a minute and watched him be Spike.  He had on pajama pants and no shirt.  He was flipping a stack of pancakes and rolling some sausage in another pan.  He also made some coffee because he was pouring an extra cup.

" You gonna come on down or keep staring?"

He turned to look at me with a cocked eyebrow and a slight grin across his mouth. "Just looking at you, i woke up and you were gone."  I watched his facial features to see if i could pick up on how he was feeling, but nope...stone cold.  God help me help him.  I walked the rest of the way over and wrapped my arms around him and gave him a sweet peck on the lips.

"I missed you too sweet girl, but i couldn't sleep so i figured i would start on breakfast. You hungry?"

"Yeah, i am. Thanks, this is sweet."  He winks at me and unravels his arms from around me to fix me a plate.

"I made your coffee already, just add your stuff to it though. I didn't want it to be too hot for you so i went ahead and poured it."

Okay then..... I'll just grab the creamer.  He was in full avoidence mode and i completely understood.  I took my plate from him and gave him a kiss on the cheek to thank him and went to the table.  A few minutes later he pulled up the chair across fom me and we silently ate our breakfast.

"We have to be at the lawyers office at eleven, have you seen mom this morning?"

He shook his head and finished chewing his food.  "No not yet, i think she's still sleeping.  We might want to wake her up soon though so she can eat before we leave."

I just nodded my head in agreement, not wanting to force him to talk.  I think alot of this wasn't just his parents though.  There is the money, then his death that could happen, and bringing us into the middle of it.  He had alot on his plate and i didn't know what to say either so i just let it be for now.  We finished our food in silence and went to get ready. By the time we had woke mom up and all took showers and got dressed, it was time to go.  We pilled up in moms car and got to the office on time.  I watched Spike pull the papers and the flash drive out of his pocket.  His grip on the drive was so tight his knuckles were turning white.

We walk inside and take a seat while Spike spoke to the receptionist.  We didn't have to wait long, thank God.  We get led back to an office that had a kind looking old man sitting behind a large oak desk.  He stood up to shake our hands while we introduced ourselves.

"Hello, my name is Arnold Davis, it's great to meet you all.  What exactly did you guys need?"

We looked at each other not knowing were to start, thankfully my mother took the reigns."Hi, we have some papers that we need you to take a look at, an insurance policy and an inheritance. Is that okay?"

"Yes sure, whatever you need. We handle all sorts of things here.  Let's take a look."

We hand him the papers and give him a minute to sort through it before handing him and dropping the murder case on him.  This was almost comical, really.

"Well i see that you are about to become a very rich man, these documents are legal in every sence. Although i get the feeling that's not all you wanted....am i right?"

"Mr. Davis we have some photos on a drive that prove the innocence to this young man.  He was wrongly accused of the murder of his parents a few years ago and we think we know who did this.  Also if all of this is true than this young mans life could be in danger because of all of that money, we need help."

He just stared at us for a beat then jumped into action.  "Okay, lets see the footage if you brought it with you."

Spike hands him the drive and the folder along with the letter from his mother and gets to digging through all of it.  We sit here for about half an hour while Mr. davis runs his hands down his face.  "Okay so... you belive that your uncle, also the benificiary is the person that murdered your parents.  Well he definiatly has motive, that's for sure.  We'll have to bring the police in on this and they will probably send a detective out to your house.  This is just nuts.  I'm sorry that you have had to deal with this kid, but no worries with all of this...we'll figure it out, and heopefully by your birthday next week.  Stay home and lay low okay and try not to go anywhere, even school.  I'm going to have my assistant make copies before you leave. I'll be right back."

None of us spoke a word. We were silent as church mouses.  He came back in a few minutes later and handed us the originals.  "Remember what i said, straight home...okay."

"We will and thank you so much for your help sir."  We turned and walked out and got in the car.  We just sat there for a minute taking all of this in and finally my mother spoke.

"We are going straight home, right now."
