We pull up in the drive way and get out of the car and silently follow my mom back in the house. We still weren't talking and the silence was not comfortable.  I hope that we can trust that lawyer because we need him.  We walked in the house and kind of went our own way.  I didn't even see where Spike and my mom went because i was stuck in my own mind at the moment.  After a few minutes of walking around i ended up in the attic.  I figure i might as well take a look around while i was up here.  I didn't know where to start so i was just looking around the room when i figured i would just pull it all out, screw it man.

After me being in here for like two hours i finally realized that this huge pile of boxes was a small pile of boxes and a huge desk...Spike's dads desk and there wasn't really anything interesting inside.  There was however a locked drawer and i pulled the bobby pin out of my hair and...wow, i didn't think that would actually work, but it did.  I twisted them together to pop the lock and i found a stack of letters.  I had a bad feeling but imma read them anyway.  Thirty minutes later my jaw was sore from dropping so many times.  Holy cow she threatened him.  I jumped off of the desk and took off running for Spike.

"SPIKE...SPIKE!  Where are you?"

We crashed into each other and hit the floor.  "Ouch babe... what the hell?"

"I think you need to take a look at these.  I found them inside of your dads old desk, this just gets worse and worse."

After he was reading for a minute he had the same look on his face as i did and probably still do.  Uncle Jack's wife, Pam, had threatened to kill Spike's mom if he didn't divorce her.  She was willing to leave Jack and start a new life away from North Carolina with Spike's dad, but apparently he didn't want that.

"This changes things, i didn't think she was that crazy."

We went up to my room to lay the notes on my bed so we could spread them out.  "We need to see if we can make a time line with these, it might help."

"Good idea babe, we also need your mom in here, go get-"

Before he could finish that sentence my mom came in with the phone in her hand. "There is a detective on the phone for you Spike."

He went to grab the phone while i motioned for her to come look at the letters.  She was able to put all of it together just as quick as we did and honestly the whole thing was just...sad.  This huge scandal that got blown out of proportion.  That is what my boyfriends life ended up becoming, just a huge ass scandal.  We can sit here all day and constantly ask why over and over again but sometimes it's not about the why.  We learn how to deal by learning how to move on.  That is honestly the best thing i can think of because everytime something drastic happens to us, it's like this extra layer we subconsciously put around ourselves to make us stronger even if it momentarily breaks us down.  We eventually get back up because life just wont have it any other way.

"This is just crap.  I feel awful for him right now...really i do.  Jealousy and greed mixed with hate and anger is never a good combination.  I would know."

" I wonder what that detective wanted, he's been gone a long time now?"

"Probably asking questions and stuff.  Maybe they might come out to the house and it might not be a bad idea either."

A few minutes later he walked back in looking so so tired.  He not only had bags but dark circles under his eyes and his hair was all over the place from him running his fingers through it.  I even think he might have lost a pound or two.

"The detective will be by later this afternoon with his partner.  I told him about the letters you found and he want's to look at that along with the photos."

He didn't say anything else he just sits on the edge of our bed and looks down at the letters.  My mom gives him a quick hug and tells us that she'll lets us know when the cops get here.  Boy did this get big quick.  I was more than ready for this stuff to just go away so that we can get on with our life.

.........................................................................................................

It was around six when the cops came by. We go downstairs and shake hands with the detectives and we all think it would be best to do this in the living room.  Spikes runs up stairs to get everything that was needed and my mom makes some coffee.  I was just sitting there trying not to look at the officers. One woman and one man, two suits, and one headache later he comes back downstairs and hands over everything that we had.  It took them about half an hour to look through everything before they had decided to open the case back up.  Our nerves were strechted as thin as paper and the coffee had me jacked up.  I felt like i had rode a rollercoaster for three hours straight then ate a bucket of fried chicken, boy was my stomach happy...not!  When the cops left i had to drag him upstairs so he could try to get some sleep.

"Get over here and lie down.  I can only imagine where your mind is right now but try to relax okay.  You being like this and going on no sleep is more dangerous than you think. Come over here and let me give your back a rub."  He slid over with a pout but he didn't argue with me.  That was wise of him.  I was rubbing his back for about five minutes before all of a sudden he was sitting on me instead of the other way around.

"What the... what are you doing?"

"You my sweet lady, are the only thing i need.  I 'm doing everything that you asked so right now....i don't want your smart mouth."

My eyes bulge out of my head at his words and before i could smack him in the back of the head i felt his lips on my collar bone.  He was gentley pulling my skin with his teeth.  Moving his lips from my shoulder to my neck and even lower towards my chest. "Mmm Spike, i love you."

"I love you too babe.  Now hush and try to relax."

I don't think i needed to say anything else here because my sweet man was doing exactly as i asked.
