Gum

I've got your name in my mouth
At the tip of my tongue
And it's losing its taste
Like an old piece of gum

I've got the words in my mind
But they're losing their light
And the sparkle is fading
And the fire and the fight

I've got my hand on your hips
As I hold you goodbye
And my fate in my pocket
With this letter inside

I've got your kiss on my lips
As I drift through the day
In this haze my heart beats
In a different way
