How do you sleep at night.
Knowing that maybe she's
not even home again.
Knowing she's choking on her tears,
While the memories dance
Over her skin with cold, naked fingers.
How do you sleep at night,
while your voice is taunting her.
Reminding her that she
was never good enough.
That you never even loved her
Enough to stay.
How do you sleep at night.
Knowing that it's raining outside.
And she can't stand the rain when you're not there.
So maybe she'll sit down and let the
rain drown out the emotions.
The words on replay in her head.
How do you sleep at night.
Knowing the smoke is burning her lungs
and the alcohol is eating her from the inside out,
while she's laughing at herself in the mirror.
Breaking.
She's breaking.
And you're sleeping.
