"Maybe one day my banal brown eyes
knotty curls and thick thighs
will find comfort in each other
rather than the words of
silky strangers
Maybe one day my sallow skin
will shine on its own
without innocently scented lotions
or the weight of my make up bag
If you ever though that loving someone else
was easy, an effortless climb to affection and security
try loving yourself first
I'm breathless at the first step
Maybe one day my lungs won't scream in pain
for their escape from my body
and I'll climb to to the top
never to look down
Maybe my arms will grow long enough
to wrap around my waist and hold me
tightly enough to break all my expectation"- P.K [29/01/15]
