You think about her all the time.
Every second of everyday;
You speculate
What she might be doing
Where she might be going
Be wearing
Be thinking
You think about her so much
it fucking consumes you.
Little thoughts dance,
Pennies,
Rolling so fast you don't even think
About it.
You shy from the thought of not thinking about it
Because the thought itself knocks the wind right out of you.
You can't imagine a moment where you won't think
About it.
And then she goes.
And the air goes
Right out of you like every little thought that danced
Through your pathetic little mind.
Slowly
Every second of every day
Each little rolling,
Dancing thought disappears.
Disintegrates,
So that you can't even save one,
Into thin air.
The air
That came back almost as quickly as it was knocked out.
And then one day
One day
As if you never even knew her name,
You think about her
And the thought of it
Knocks the wind right out of you
Because you can't believe you'd gone so long
Without thinking of her.
And because you couldn't imagine a day where you would think
About her
Again.
