CHAPTER ONE - HERE WE GO
"Tell me now what you want
What you want
Tell me now, tell me now, don't stop
Don't stop
Come closer
Let me know 'bout all your secrets
Come slowly
Cross the line of all the reason"

"Attention passengers of the flight 8103 to New York. There has been some complications and the flight will be delayed for later this evening. We apologize for the trouble and will keep you informed." The announcer faded away as Sophia cursed under her breath.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath counting to ten. She could do this. She was already standing in the departure gate with her carry-on bag in hand, hasn't slept for more than a day and has been walking around Miami non-stop for the entire day with her sister searching for a wedding gown. But that should count as nothing, right?
She would survive, if she took at least four bottles of beer at the Corona Bar in the airport, which she would.
Getting to the bar wasn't an easy task considering that Sophie was wearing the same shoes for the entire journey since leaving her apartment in NYC and it was killing her. So as soon as she was able to find a seat on the bar counter, she not so gently took her shoes off and made an awkward noise of relief as she did so.
"Good evening, how can I help you?" The barman asked her with a gentle smile and she looked at him as if he was going to save her day.
"A Corona please. With lemon." She said. That was probably the best moment since she got in Miami last night.
Her sister, Melody, made her come all the way from New York to help her choose 'the most important outfit of her life', as Melody put it.
Sophia couldn't understand how her sister could be so different. Melody was going to get married in 7 months and was freaking out because she couldn't wait until she was married to the love of her life. And as much as Sophie was happy for her, she wasn't the most romantic girl in the world and marriage, for her, was just a casualty involving two crazy people.
"There you go. Anything more for you ma'am?" The barman returned with her beer and she thanked him.
"No. I'm fine for now, thanks."
That was it. She would be in this airport for hell knows how long and her only bright side was the bottle of beer in front of her.
She laughed by herself at the thought of that. 'Maybe the next step is to buy a cat', she thought, and rolled her eyes at herself.
"What is it that you find so amusing?" A strange male voice took her attention and Sophia looked at the man that was now standing by her side.
Only then she realized she still had a smile on her face.
"I'm deciding which cat breed I should buy myself." She answered the man, thinking that after this he would leave her alone.
Instead he smiled and took the seat by her side. "Interesting." He stated and she took notice of his deep blue eyes that was partly hidden by his New Era cap. He had a few wrinkles beside the eye but it didn't look like it was an age sign. More like a charming mark. "So, what are your options?" The guy asked.
                              "What?" Sophia questioned.
"What breeds are you thinking about?" He said and she remembered what she was saying, laughing at herself once again. "A Corona too, please." He asked to the bartender, who returned quickly with his order.
"I don't really know any." She shrugged and the guy raised his eyebrows.
"You should buy a dog, then. They're friendlier, anyway." He stated and she took a sip of her beer hiding a smile.

Romance"How haven't we met before, then?" He asked in a joking tone and Sophie rolled her eyes at him. "Maybe we did. We could have passed by each other on the streets for all I know." She tried to reason, getting into his small talk.
