Sophia woke up with the sound of the alarm clock on her nightstand and prayed for another hour of sleep.
She sat down on the bed and took a deep breath before getting up and getting ready to work.
She had a small publicity agency in partnership with Mike Brandon, a friend from college. Mike was responsible for the boring administration part and Sophia was the one who found the clients.
And tonight was a big night for her. Brie Williams, a singer/songwriter and one of her first clients was nominated for Greatest Revelation on the Annual Liberty Award held by New York Journal and tonight was the night of the premiation. Which meant Sophie had a load of work to do.
She started sending a text message to Brie telling her what to post on her twitter account as soon as she woke up.
Sophia was at Starbucks getting her daily morning latte when Brie called her.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so nervous I think I might be sick." She said on the phone as soon as Sophie answered it.
"Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Everything will be alright." Sophie told her client, doing the same thing herself.
"Sorry Sophie but your meditation thing won't work for me today." William said and Sophie laughed. Brie had all the reasons to be anxious but she knew it woul all work out. Just being nominated to this award was enough to send her carreer to the next level. Sophie already had great things coming for Brie.
"So this is what you'll do. You're gonna take a selfie with no make up on, wearing a robe. Take it on your bathroom. And post it to Instagram with the caption 'Getting ready for the big night! Thank you all for the never ending support. Love you!'." Sophie walked off the coffee shop while saying that. She had to make sure to give Brie a lot of attention today.
"Okay, I'll do it." Brie agreed. She only ever posted pictures on Instagram when Sophie told her to. She wasn't very into social media herself.
"Right now!" Sophia told her.
"If you weren't my friend I'd say you're a freak." Brie said and laughed while Sophie closed her eyes.
"I'm not a freak. Just doing my job." She defended herself. Brie and her had become friends over the two years they were working together. Sophie went to a bar in SoHo and listened to Brie singing in the open mic night. That very moment two gears ago she knew Brie Williams could be the next great thing in music.
So she approached her later that evening and offered to be her publicist. Brie didn't believe at first. She had been singing at bars since she was 18 and at the age of 22 she had lost hope. But then Sophie found her. And from then on everything was perfect.
She recorded her first album by the end of that year and with the help of Sophie her songs got to every radio in the country. She even had a fan club.
