Chapter Twenty Three - YOU'LL THINK OF ME

"I went out driving trying to clear my head
I tried to sweep out all the ruins that my emotions left
I guess I'm feeling just a little tired of this
And all the baggage that seems to still exist
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been
What we should have been"

- Keith Urban

3 weeks later

Sophie was posting Brie's latest picture from Nashville on Instagram. Brie was beautiful in this pic, high boots, with the mic on her hand talking to the crowd in front of her stage in a shining outfit. She looked like Taylor Swift mixed with Rihanna and Sophia loved that look. Her tour was a major success and they were even considering adding some more dates.

"I'm so tired I can't even eat." Brie let her body fall on her bed in another hotel room.

"You have to eat. I just ordered room service for you. It'll be here in 20." Sophie stated.

She had been completely focused on the tour and Brie's carreer since her failed attempt to get to Blake in the airport 3 weeks ago. Sophie had decided to let go of everything related to her personal life from then on. She never tried to call Blake again, and he didn't try to call her either. She didn't go back to New York in her time off from the tour cause she was afraid it would make her think of him. She didn't even talked about him with James or Brie, it was a forbidden topic in all their conversations.

"I'll eat if you eat with me. I swear you must be down two numbers since the tour started. It's not healthy." Brie sat down and looked at her friend who was focused on the phone editing some picture and working on the best subtitle.

"I'm the one who has to take care of you. Not the other way around..." Sophie answered in a tired tone. Brie knew it was useless to argue with this woman. She had become a vampire. "Anyways... I asked the mail guy to bring us the new Cosmo magazine with you on the cover since we didn't have time to buy one. He should be here any minute."

Brie jumped like a high school girl on the bed in excitement. "Yay! I'm so excited for this. It's my first Cosmo cover! And I look dang good, George is gonna die when he sees it!"

"Yeah, you did a great job in that photoshoot." Sophie said without an inch of excitement. Brie exhaled deeply, she was getting tired of this zombie mood Sophie was in.

Knock knock

Sophie finished posting the picture and walked up to the door to pick up the magazine the mail guy had brought them.

There it was. The picture of her friend in a rockstar outfit and a quote: "I love life and I'm pretty sure it loves me back." A typical thing Brie would say.

Sophie was just closing the door when her eyes wondered to the words written at the bottom of the cover page: Does Blake Thomas has a new love interest? Page 12

"Hey, let me see!!!" Brie shouted from the bed and Sophie couldn't hear her nor move. She opened the magazine on page 12 as she remained in front of the door.

There was a picture of Blake hugging a blonde girl who looked more like an angel from Victoria's Secret fashion show.

They were standing on a sidewalk, probably in London. You couldn't see her face but Blake's face was completely recognizable. It was him.

"What is it? Am I too photoshopped?" Brie realized there was something wrong and walked towards Sophie whose face looked like she was going to faint.

"Blake." Sophie said in barely a whisper.

"What?"

"He's with another girl." Sophie explained handing the magazine to Brie who quickly read the article. It indeed pointed to the fact the soccer player had "found love in the queen's territory".

"Are you okay?" Brie asked her friend who remained still like a statue.

"I'm great. I knew this was gonna happen. He's a great guy. I wish them the best." Sophie said automatically. "I'm gonna head out now to run some errands."

"It's 1am Soph."

"I forgot something I had to do." Sophie went on to grab her bag on the table she was working in and headed out with no other words, leaving Brie worried and speechless.

Sophie thanked James in her thoughts for convincing her to rent a car here in Tennesse since they had more than a week to stay. So she took the keys and drove away from the hotel with nowhere in mind.

As she drove she wished her mind could forget everything she had lived with Blake. But at the same time those moments were still the best she had ever lived. She was tired of this mixed feelings. It was time to move on. Only 3 weeks had passed but it seemed Blake had managed to move on so why couldn't she?

Her phone beeped signaling it died as she realized she was near a bar she went a few years ago on vacation and stopped there.

Sophie sat on a booth on the counter and ordered two tequilas and a beer. She didn't plan on leaving there tonight so she didn't have to worry about the car.

The last time she drank alone in a bar she met Blake. She only wished this time she could forget him.
