Chapter Twenty Five - I Miss You

"And I know we're not supposed to talk
But I'm getting ahead of myself
I get scared when we're not
'Cause I'm scared you're with somebody else
So I guess that it is gone
And I just keep lying to myself
I can't believe it"

- Clean Bandit

It had been 04 days since Sophie talked to her mother and that phrase 'Love is never over' was still on her mind.

"Do you think I should call him?" She asked Brie as they were having lunch before prepping for the next concert.

"Call him?" Brie looked surprised. "You wanna call him now?" Sophie didn't understand her friend's reaction. She was always the first one to say Sophie should do something.

"I don't think you should call." James stated interrupting their conversation making Sophie even more confused.

"Weren't you the ones who told me I should go after him?" She questioned her friends who looked at each other like they were hiding something. "Do gou guys know something? Is it about the woman he was photographed with?"

"What? No!" Brie and James said in unison.

"Okay... what am I supposed to do then?" Sophie asked, getting frustrated. She was tired of being sad and missing Blake. If she could just talk to him then maybe he would forgive her.

"Just wait until your head is a bit clearer." James suggested. "Then you'll know what to do. "

"I'm with James. You can't call him when you're like that... maybe wait a couple of days... think about what you're gonna say." Brie advised and she decided to drop the subject, just as her phone started ringing.

It was Michael. "Hi, Mike, what's up?"

"Sophie, you need to come to New York." He stated in a serious tone. Sophia have never heard him like that before.

"What happened?" She asked getting worried.

"It's an emergency... something happened and I can't go to a meeting tonight. It's with a financial group that wants to invest in the agency. One of us HAVE to go! Or else we could lose everything." He seemed like he was desperate and Sophie couldn't wonder what in hell could have happen. Michael was always the one responsible for being the manager of the company.

"What do you mean we can lose everything? I'm worried Mike." She told him.

"I'll explain when you get here. But you have to come!" He shouted, making her jump on the chair.

"Alright. I'll talk to Brie and will be on the next flight. Please be in touch!" Sophie gave in, her head pounding with thoughts of what was going on.

On the other side of the table Brie and James paid attention to her conversation on the phone as Mike explained that there would be a car waiting for her at the airport to take her to the meeting.

"What is it?" Brie asked as she hung up the phone.

"Mike needs me in New York for a meeting tonight. He said it's an emergency." She explained.

"Okay... if he says so, you should go." Brie shrugged.

"You're not gonna argue?"

"It's an emergency, you said so." She stated. "I can handle myself for one night. Just go already." She waved her hand at Sophia.

"I'm sorry, B. I'll be back as soon as possible!" Sophie got up from the table ready to leave. She already had her purse with all the documents and she was wearing a nice suit, perfect for a meeting, so she just headed out the hotel and called a cab to the airport.

The entire flight she tried to imagine what happened to Michael and most of all, why this meeting was so important to them. They could lose everything, he said.

That was definitely not her best year. If she lost the company she didn't know what else to do.

When she got off the plane she rushed out of the airport and found a guy wearing a black cap and sunglasses holding a sign with her name on it.

"It's me, Sophia." She greeted the mand who looked down as he opened the door of a black sedan for her.

He didn't seem like he wanted to talk so she just looked outside the window on the way to the meeting.

She missed New York. 2 months away was a lot of time for her and she missed her home. Or better, she missed Blake's home.

Sophie shook thoughts of Blake Thomans off her mind. Tonight she had much bigger problems to deal with.

She tried calling Mike but he wouldn't pick up and before she noticed, the car was parked outside a hotel and the driver got out to open the door for her.

Just as Sophie got out of the car, the man took his cap and sunglasses off. And then she recognized him.

"Andrew?" Sophia was shocked. The driver was none other than Blake's brother.

"I'm sad you didn't recognize me sooner, Sophie." He laughed.

"What are you doing here?" She asked him, confused. He wasn't a professional driver for all she knew.

"I was told to bring you here and tell you to go up to the rooftop. There will be your meeting."
Andrew explained and just then Sophia realized where she was.

The hotel Blake took her the night of the award. Where they drank wine and danced. The first night she knew she was in trouble.

"Now, if I were you I would hurry up. You don't want to be late for this meeting." He told her and she just decided to do as he said and walked inside the hotel, got in an elevator and there it was.

The place where it all began.
