"Again," Wells called out. I dropped my hands and looked at him, questioning. Caitlin and Cisco were behind him, eyes glued to their computers, watching my vitals.

"Can't I be done?" I put my hands on my hips.

"In a minute, right now, you need to train." I sighed before I started practicing my "blasts." Everyday, I was getting stronger and was able to use my power for longer periods of time. Teleporting became easier each time I did it. The burning in my eyes and the headaches were gone. But today, I was so tired. And working myself to the bone wasn't going to be good for anyone.

I practiced blasting a few targets more targets. Each one designed for me to make a split second decision on whether or not they were dangerous. I felt like it was that Men in Black test. After another twenty minutes, Wells finally called it. Caitlin and Cisco shot off to the lab. Wells waited for me until I was by his side.

As we made our way back, I asked him something that I was dying to know, "Dr. Wells? Can I ask you a question?"

"What's on your mind, Ms. Parker?"

"I understand why we train so hard, but it sometimes seems you are harder on me than you are with Barry. Did I do something wrong?" Wells stopped his wheelchair and I stopped in my tracks.

"No, Rose," Wells said. "You didn't. The reason I push you hard is because I see your dedication. You're here early for each training session. Always pushing yourself to do better. Always asking how you can do better. I don't always see that in Barry. I'll talk with him." Wells began wheeling forward once again. I followed.

"Dr. Wells."

"Yes, Rose."

"Thanks," I said. "For everything. Without you, Cisco, Caitlin, and Barry, I don't know what I'd do. So thanks."

"Anytime, Rose. Anytime."

..............................

I took a sip from my latte, trying to wake myself up, as I waited with the team for Barry. Barry was supposed to show up two hours ago for testing and some training. I ended doing it all myself, feeling near dead. After that night at the West's house, I could barely sleep, knowing the man in yellow could hurt my sister. Or even my whole family.

"Where's your shadow, Rose?" Caitlin asked me. I shrugged, closing my eyes as I leaned back in my chair.

"Late. You'd think with superspeed, the guy would find a way to show up on time." A whooshing noise hit my ears and I cracked open one eye. Barry leaned against the door frame, drinking his coffee. I closed my eye again.

Wells spoke up, "I'm going to need a moment alone with Barry." I snapped my fingers, keeping my eyes closed.

"Cisco, take me away," I could almost feel Cisco's eye roll as he grabbed the back of my chair and rolled me away. Once I felt us go down the incline, I felt Cisco let go of the chair. I continued rolling until I bumped into the wall. "Ow."

"Barry is in trouble," Cisco said, like a school kid. I finally opened my eyes and smiled.

"That's what he gets for being late all the time," Caitlin interjected. "How do you deal with it at work?"

I scooted my chair over by the computers and set my empty coffee cup down, "Every time he is late at work, I make him put a dollar in the coffee jar. If I'm going to be doing extra work because he is late, he owes me for the coffee runs I need to make to stay awake to do double the work." I felt my phone buzz. It was a text from Eddie. I got up and went over to the open doorway to the room where Barry and Wells were still talking. I knocked on the frame, making both turn their heads in my direction.
