I woke up to the piercing sound of a horn outside and was really confused, until the memories of yesterday flooded my mind. I peeped out of the curtains and saw a bunch of sweaty men in singlets and shorts, lifting and loading things into the truck.

Today was the day I fly out of the Gold Coast, to go to a new home and make new friends. Wait, friends? Oh crap! I haven't told any of them that I'm leaving yet.

*knock knock*

I turned around and slowly walked towards the door, opening it to reveal a red eyed but still beautiful women. I pulled her into a tight hug, "hey mum." I pulled her out of the hug and gave her a weak smile.

"It's time to go love, I'm sorry, but we can't stay here," she explained with a tear rolling down her cheek.

"It's all good mum, I understand," I say as I wipe away her tear.  Now, I was trying to hold back my tears, I didn't want to let them out just yet because I had to be strong. For mum, for Gabby, for Sam.

"Can you get the other 2 ready to leave?" she asked, voice breaking
mid-sentence. I nodded intently and gave another weak smile.

Once she had left I let a few tears out. It was painful to go through something like that, really painful. But, I soldiered on and walked out of my bedroom to wake up my 2 siblings.

I first creaked open Gabby's door and saw her sitting in her bed, lazily zipping up her suitcase. "Time to go ,Gabbs," I whisper yelled to her. She looked up from her bag and simply nodded.

I closed her door and walked up to Sam's door frame, as he sleeps with his door open, but was stopped when I heard a voice from the behind me.

"Um, excuse me? Are you Ranee?" I whipped around and nodded a yes to a very hairy man. "Um, well, your mother told me to just let you know that we are taking the furniture out of your room." His voice was low and husky, and a little bit intimidating, so I just nodded madly so he'd leave me alone.

When he walked past me and into my room, I put my focus back on Sam. I walked up to where he lay. I saw him in his favourite hulk pyjamas and smiled at the thought of his face when I gave them to him, he was so happy. It's a shame I might not see that look for a while after this.

I gently nudged him and he rolled over to look at me. "What are you doing Ranee?" he asked. I knew he'd be confused about it all but I didn't want to be the one who explained to him.

"Um, mummy is taking us somewhere," I said, hoping my lying skills were okay.

"Oh, where is she taking us?" he asked.
Oh crap, oh crap, I don't even know where we are going.

"Um, she said it was a surprise." I say really hoping he fell for it. And with that he flung out of bed and grabbed his suit case and ran doe the stairs, trying to drag his suitcase down with him. I laughed a little to myself and checked to see if my room was empty.

I peered in and saw the hairy guy there, and only the hairy guy holding the last box that was in my room. "Okay, so that's your room done, which is the next one?" he asked. I pointed to Sam's room as I still felt intimidated by this guy and didn't really want to speak to him. He then pushed past me and into Sam's room with some of the other moving crew helping him move the stuff out.

I said on last good bye to my room and shut the door. I kind of felt upset to leave this place, because I grew up here my whole life, all of us kids did actually. My parents had moved to Australia from NZ just before I was born.
I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw Gabby snapping her fingers in front of my face. "Ranee, that is so creepy, you were just standing out here on the hall way staring at nothing," she exclaimed.

"Oh, right, sorry," I said awkwardly grabbing my bags for the plane, which were already in the hall way, which I assume were brought out by the moving crew. I dragged my bags down the stairs, closely followed by Gabby doing the exact same thing.

Once we reached the bottom of the stairs we were greeted by our mum. "Ready to go girls?" She asked.

"What, now? That was freakishly quick." Gabby said.

"Yeah I know right, those men are very good at there job," mum replied.

"Okay, let's go then," I said in a cheerful voice. Even though I was sad to leave, I was also really happy and relieved to be going. Especially since I'll never have to see my dad again.

By now Sam was already out the door and we were all following him, to the car. We piled all of our luggage into the boot of our Holden Captiva, and got ourselves buckled in the car.

As mum started to drive down the road, I decided to ask her a question. "Hey, mum, where are we going exactly?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you kids, we are moving in with one of my old friends for a bit until we can find a house," she said looking at me threw the rear view mirror.

"Oh cool, do they have kids," Gabby asked excitedly.

"Yes actually, they do. One of them is 14 and his name is, um, oh I can't really remember. Jack, Jake, Jakob, I don't know, I've forgotten. And another older one I can't remember how old she is, but her name is Mikaila.

"Cool, so we can be friends with them. Where do they live?" I then asked.

"Sydney," mum said.

Gabby literally screamed "we are moving to Sydney?"

(AN:/ hey thanks again for reading, I hoped you enjoyed it. I'm sorry if this chapter was kind of bad and mixed up I rushed. But otherwise I really hoped you liked it.
