Chapter 4

I heard someone walk in my room, but I ignored it. I was still very tired and not in the mood to wake up. I was hoping whoever walked in my room would go away and leave me to sleep, but that was not the case.

"Fin!" I heard my younger brother yell as someone jumped on my bed. "Fin! Wake up! You have to wake up!"

I groaned and opened my eyes, seeing my younger brother grinning deviously at me. "What the hell, Flynn?" I asked.

"Whoa, watch your language," Flynn said. "Come on, you have to get out of bed!"

"It's Saturday," I whined. "Why do I have to get out of bed?"

       "It's Logan."

I sat up straight and looked at Flynn. "What about Logan? Is he okay?"

Flynn shrugged. "I don't know. He's probably still sleeping right now. I just wanted you to get up."

I glared at him and smacked him in the face with my pillow. "Screw off, Flynn," I said. "That was not funny. I thought something bad happened."

"I just wanted you to get up," he said innocently. "I'm bored." He flopped down on the bottom half of my bed with a pouty look. "Can we play Minecraft?"

"I'm still tired," I said. "Why don't you go to Jake's house?"

"Because it's so far," he whined. "I have to walk for, like, twenty minutes and then I'll have to walk back. Please can we play Minecraft?"

"You can play it by yourself," I said as I laid back down. "I'm going back to bed."

I felt Flynn get off my bed and I thought he was actually going to let me sleep in. However, it wasn't long before he came back in my room and did something I never thought he would do while I was in bed.

He literally dumped a whole can of soda on me.

I sat up quickly, wiping the sticky liquid from my face. "What the hell is your problem, Flynn? I'm trying to sleep!"

He gave me a smile. "You can't now. It will be too hard, so you can play Minecraft with me."

"No," I said. "Now, I have to throw my bedding in the washer machine and have a shower. So, good job, Flynn. Your plan backfired."

Flynn groaned dramatically and stormed out of my room. "Thank you for being a wonderful sister and not playing games with me!" he called sarcastically as he walked away.

I sighed, pulling myself out of bed and taking off my bedding. I carried it downstairs and went to the laundry room. As much as I loved having Flynn back to himself, I hated when he acted like this. He would never let me sleep in, he was always pouring soda on me, and he was constantly complaining about me not playing games with him, even though I did a lot.

After I put my bedding in the wash, I went to the washroom to have a quick shower. I scoffed when I walked in, seeing a mess of Flynn's stuff. Before he was adopted, both my mom and I had our own washroom since there was two, but now I had to share with him. And it was annoying. He was so messy, constantly leaving his clothes on the floor even though the laundry basket was close by.

I took a quick shower, washing the soda off of me. I had to do this at least once a week because Flynn had a serious problem with dumping soda on people.

When I finished my shower, I changed into some comfortable clothes right before I heard the doorbell ring. "FIN!" Flynn called from his bedroom. "ANSWER THE DOOR!"

I sighed, walking out of my room. "You do know I'm older than you, right?!" I called back. "I don't have to listen to you!"

He didn't reply as I walked down the stairs and answered the door. Logan was standing there with his younger brother, Jake. Jake was Flynn's age and they were the best of friends. "Hi," Logan said. "Flynn wanted Jake to come over, so I thought I'd come as well."

I let them in and closed the door behind them. "Jake!" Flynn exclaimed as he hurried down the stairs.

"Flynn!" Jake exclaimed back. They then did this really weird hug that nobody quite understood.

"Well, the bromance game is strong," Logan commented.

"And awesome," Flynn said. "Dude, let's play Minecraft!"

"Yes!" Jake said before he and Flynn rushed upstairs.

"I'll never understand them," I said.

"Same," Logan said. He reached up and gently tugged on a strand of my hair since it was still damp from the shower. "Let me guess. Soda?"

I scoffed. "While I was trying to sleep. So now my bedding is in the wash."

Logan chuckled. "I have no idea what's up with your brother and soda."

"At least he's back to himself," I said. "Want to watch a movie? I can make some popcorn, salt and vinegar flavor, your favorite."

Logan smiled. "Sure. Want me to pick to movie while and you make the popcorn?"

I nodded before I went to the kitchen as he headed to the living room. I first popped the popcorn before adding the butter and Logan's favorite flavoring. When it had the perfect amount of flavoring, I went into the living room with the large bowl and sat down beside Logan. I rested the bowl on my leg and his leg as he started the movie.

I rested my head on Logan's shoulder, feeling comfortable sitting beside him. For a long time, I was always worrying about Ryan and whether or not he would get to us before the police found him. However, every time I was with Logan, it made me feel better and safe.

"I like this movie," I said about five minutes into it. It was one that Logan and I had seen many times before. It never got old.

"Yeah," Logan agreed. "The only part that I don't get is the ending. I like the ending, I just don't get it."

"Same here," I said, taking a handful of popcorn and basically shoving it in my face.

"Ooh, popcorn!" I heard Flynn say. "Can we have some?!"

I turned to face him, seeing both him and Jake with eager expressions as they stared t the popcorn. "Uh, no," I said. "And what happened to Minecraft?"

"We smelled the popcorn," Flynn said. "Be wonderful siblings and share."

"You have your own hands, go make your own," I said.

Flynn frowned, then smiled deviously. "If you don't share, I'll spray soda on you."

"If you spray soda on us, I'll continuously kiss your sister whenever you're around," Logan said, knowing it bothered Flynn whenever Logan and I kissed.

Flynn pretended to gag. "Never mind, I'll go make my own popcorn. Come on, Jake. Let's go make popcorn that's better than theirs." They headed off into the kitchen.

"Well, that worked," Logan said. "But I'm going to kiss you anyway." He pressed his lips softly on mine before turning back to the movie. "I love you, Fin," he said.

"I love you too, Logan," I replied, snuggling into him. I loved spending time with him, but I was worried our time together may be limited. If the police couldn't capture Ryan, we wouldn't be guaranteed to survive. He was a deadly man and I had no idea what he was capable of. But seeing as he broke out of prison, he could probably do a whole lot.

Including killing the two teenagers he was after. Logan and I were going to have to find a way to get out of this before Ryan found us. If only it seemed possible.

So I will be updating every Monday now for sure. I'm rarely busy Monday's so I have a lot of time to work on the parts.

I seriously love Flynn and Jake's bromance. cx They're definitely the best of friends.
