Chapter 9: Figure it out

Jb immediately reacted to the kiss. He put both of his hands on my face to deepen the kiss. Im so lost in the butterflies that I cant even think. But all I know is it feels so right.

Once we finally break the kiss, Jb smiles at me and then being the asshole he is, turns around and goes to sleep.

Wow ok.

*buzz buzz*

From: Naeyeon

Meet me at the park. We need to talk.

To: Naeyeon

Be there in 10.

I attempt to tip toe out of bed without waking Jb, but of course the bed squeaks.

Scrunching my face, I look to see if Jb is still asleep. Thank god he is.

As I try to navigate my way around Sara's house in the dark, I see light coming from the living room.

As Im walking closer I can see Cody sitting on the couch with some girl. She looks like a freshman maybe?

I figured that the longer I stand here the more perverted I feel. So I walk back down the hallway to the back door. Too bad that I have to jump the fence.

I jump the fence and head down the street to the park. Its 9:15 p.m. on a Wednesday so it's pretty deserted outside.

I can see Naeyeon sitting on the swings with something from Starbucks.

"Starbucks in September?" I ask, when im close enough that Naeyeon can recognize me.

"Fight me bitch." She says, flipping me off in the process. Classic Naeyeon.

"Yeah yeah. So why did you request me?" I ask trying to sound like a rich snob.

I know its something serious because Naeyeon shifted in the seat to face me. Oh dear.

"Well here it is. Chanyeol asked about you today. I told him you were with your hot neighbor" She said, tilting her head to the side. She knows something. "He likes you Lexi. Chanyeol does. The way his face changed when I said you went with Jb...it's so obvious." She said with pleading eyes. Does she not want me to like Jb?

"Well, what about Jb?" I ask. Whenever I look over. Naeyeon is looking at the floor, she seems tense. I think I know what's going on.

"Nae, whats this about?" I ask, even though I probably already know the answer. She likes Jb.

"I just think you should consider Chanyeol, because you like him and stuff and he is nicer to you than Jb-"

I cut off Naeyeon's explanation with, "Do you like Jb or something? You havent even met him." I said defensively. How can you like someone you havent even met.

"No no no!" Naeyeon says, putting her hands up in defense. "But...i do know him actually...he dated...um my cousin....Kaitlyn..." She said looking down on the last part. I knew she had a cousin named Kaitlyn that died, but I didnt know what she looked like or how she died. I just know that Kaitlyn's boyfriend got her killed...

"Naeyeon...how did Kaitlyn die? Tell me the truth." I said, trying not to let my voice crack. Did I just kiss a killer?

"They were in New York together. Jb had already been in trouble with a few drug dealers."

He does drugs?

"He ran into a dealer and he owed money, and they said they were going to kill Kaitlyn if he didnt get the money. And guess what? He didnt get the money. So they did..." Naeyeon couldnt even finish talking before tears were rolling down her face.
