Chapter eleven

annie;

I woke up to the sun shining brightly in my face, what time is it?
I rolled over to look at my alarm clock, 8:14.
School started in about forty five minutes, I jumped out of bed and picked out and outfit, my head was pounding so I went with jean and a plain grey long sleeve with my gym logo on it.
I bolted down the steps and grabbed a granola bar, "bye I'm leaving for school" I yelled, not even knowing if anyone was up.
I headed out the door and started walking to school.
Ten minutes later I arrived in the school hallway, Brennan was leaning against my locker, before I had a chance to ask he explained why he didn't meet me yesterday.

"My little brother broke his arm and I had to get to the hospital" he said, I accepted his apology and he swiftly kissed my cheek.
I told him I had to go and headed of to class.

When it was finally time for lunch my stomach was growling.
I grabbed my bag and hopped out of my seat.
I walked down the hall to my locker, I stood there a moment, Brennan and a friend were talking right across from me.

" you like annie now don't you?" His friend said, I scrunched my eyebrows, why wouldn't he?

"No, once the whole bet is over she'll mean nothing to me, and she doesn't now" he spat out.
The word spun around me like little knives, I felt sick, I grabbed my bag out of my locker and made sure to slam it extra hard, Brennan turned around and saw my face, tears running down.

"Annie wait" he said trying to reach for my arm, I shoved him off.
I ran to the women's bathroom and I thought he followed me in when I heard footsteps.

"I warned you didn't I?" It was Arden, she had this I told you so look, she swiftly opened the door and walked out.
