The reception is filled with people, and I can't tell where Brennan is, I've tried to wipe him from my mind and enjoy the wedding but it's useless.
I scan the room again and find him sitting at a table alone.
I want to go over to him, but I know I shouldn't, he wouldn't want it, it wouldn't be good for us, and I've finally started recovering.
One of Abby's friends brothers comes over to me, jack.
"Wanna dance?" He smiles.
I can't help but blush as he leads me out on the dance floor.
"You look beautiful in that dress" he says.
"You too" I immediately say and cover my mouth, he chuckles.
"Yeah, I love this dress" he says laughing histarically and pointing to his tux.
And for once my mind is off Brennan.
I dance, and sing, and laugh.
After an hour of dancing and talking we decide to go outside.
The air feels perfect and the stars are extra bright.
"This was fun" he says as he gets his car keys out to leave "we could hang out again sometime, you know, like, a date" he stutters and laughs.
I giggle, I nod my head "we should".
He's standing right in front of me now and I can feel his breath on my lips, and then were kissing.
It's short and sweet, but as I watch him get in his car and drive away my heart breaks, because I didn't feel any spark, not like I did the first time I kissed Brennan.
And then I turn my head, and there's Brennan, I can tell he's seen the whole thing by the look in his eyes.
