Chapter 17

Annie;

My knees drop to the pavement, Arden runs to help me up, "I hate him so much" she says, "don't you?"
I sigh "I don't know, I thought I loved him, now I hate him, this relationship is toxic" I breath.
She pulls me into a hug, we don't say anything for a while, but I'm taking it as were making up, it feels good.
A loud noise seperates up and we turn around to see katie slamming her door.

"Where is that freaking idiot I'm going to choke him to death" she yells referring to the text I sent her explaining things.
I run and hug her, not telling her where she went in fear she might actaully kill him.
Arden invites us inside and we agree to come.
She takes us to her room where she explains she's going to tell us what happened between her and Brennan.

"I knew about the bets but he fooled me, he made me think he loved me, for exactly a month, on our anniversary he dumped me" she sighs "that's the reason I warned you about him, I saw you falling for him and I couldn't let it happen, then I though he loved you and then things blew up and I'm still confused" she said, "I was never jealous, sure I had thought I loved him but I got over it"

I sighed to, I was happy to know what had really happened, I trusted Arden with my life and was glad we were good.
Arden said we could stay the night but I turned her down, I had to get home.
Katie offered to drive we but I said I wanted to walk and clear my mind.

I began walking and kicked rocks along the way, an occasional noise in the woods would make me jump.
It happened so quickly, before I knew it someone's hand was over my mouth dragging me to his car.
