Chapter 33

Annie;

"Meet me at the coffee shop downtown, we need to talk"

As much as I don't want to see Brennan I know I have to go. Hopefully it will clear the water some.
I collect my things and instead of telling Caleb I'm meeting Brennan, because he would never let me, I tell him I'm meeting katie
"Okay" he says "just make sure to call if you stay the night so we know where you are and that your safe" he says.
I think Brennan knows ill be there, I don't even think he was asking a question I think he just knows ill come if he tells me.
I'm not sure what going to go down, anything could happen and I'm scared out of my mind.

See him makes my heart ache, I want so badly for things to be back to how they used to be.
I open the door and the bell above me rings, he doesn't turn his head, he knows it's me, somehow.
I slide into the seat across from him.
"She's my cousin" he says "she was only visiting, she was just traveling through on her way to New York and I offered her a place to stay because we don't have many hotels here and what we do have is really expensive" he says and I let out a small sigh of relief.
I think I knew all along that there was a diffrent story, it just didnt seem like something Brennan would do.
"Ok" I say.
He won't look me on the eyes, won't he look at my face, I'm starting to get angry "is that all?" I ask.
He nods and I get up and collect my things. It feels like a waste of fifteen minutes, but I know I needed it.
I open the door once again, the bell rings, and this time I can feel his eyes on me.

I'm about a block away from the coffee shop when I hear his voice "Ann wait!" He yells.
I turn around and he stops in front of me. This time he looks me in the eyes.
"That's not all I wanted to say" he breathes hard from chasing me down.
"Oh ok well what else?" I ask.
He thinks for a moment, maybe second guessing himself, and when the words leave his mouth I know why
"I love you" he says, and then he kisses me.
