Chapter 22

Annie;

I try and scoot back in my seat so he doesn't see me, but it's no use.
His eyes are on my before hes all the way in the door.
I try not to pay any attention to him but its impossible, I reach for my phone to call Brennan to discover its dead. I don't know anyone else in the cafe so I can't tell someone.
I try my best to study, but I feel Luke's eyes on me as he finishes his order and sit down.

After about an hour I try and sneak out, I can feel him following me.
He reaches for my arm and I begin to run, he's to strong.
I try my best to struggle but its no use, "this time in taking you somewhere no one will ever find yo-" he doesn't get to finish because I hear a crack and someone's hand has just punched his jaw, I immediately assume its Brennan, and run to hug him.
But instead my eyes meet with hayleys tutor, and it's almost scary how blue they are.
I hug him anyway, after all he saved my life, he's warm and smells like vanilla and I finally feel safe.

"Look, I'm sorry for being so mean to you before" he says "I was in a bad mood that day" I nod and he suggests we go get a smoothie.
"I have a boyfriend" I blurt and instantly become embarrassed.

"Woah" he jokingly puts his hands up in surrender "I didn't mean it like that" he laughs.
My cheeks are flaming red now, but I manage to agree.
It's only a couple doors down and I take a seat as he goes to order.
My phone is plugged into a charger that he lent me, and I haven't Called Brennan yet.
My phone buzzes, and I assume it's Brennan but it shows an unknown number.

Unknown number; I think you know who this is, you seem to have endless luck, but I always have someone whatching you, and they're going to lead you to me when you least expect it.
The text reads.

My stomach lurches, it could be anyone.
