Hello, look at me, updating two chapters at once!

Anyway, these are short because I obviously divided them in half, so it's like, they're only going to be one or two pages compared to my usual number of pages.

I'm going to try and do another chapter tonight. But I highly doubt that will happen because I'm tired. SO, please enjoy this.

XOXOX

Lauren.

Please, comment, vote, get me to 100 reads at least before I update again!

Chapter Thirteen

Ally

Spin the bottle was always a bad idea. I mean, who even invented the game thinking it was fun? Sure, in middle school and elementary school it was fun, because you were just learning about boys, but now, it's stupid. Who even would think of this anyway?Probably a bunch of drunk college kids, because that’s who the game was being played by.

I think the same people have kissed each other, over and over again. It first started off as whoever you landed on, you went in a closet for seven minutes with them. But since no one was returning and I'm pretty sure babies were being made in the closets, we were playing the normal way. Hannah was too drunk to even spin the bottle, she just swiped at it, so she could keep making out with Jackson again and again.

He didn’t mind it; his pants told me all I needed to know.

Ryder was sitting across from me in the circle, looking anywhere but at me. Countless times he would glance over at me quickly, thinking I wasn't looking. I knew it was because the kiss with Andy, I know how Ryder is. He'll just be an ass because he doesn't know how to express his feelings, which makes me a major bitch.

I repeat, a major bitch.

“He’ll get over it.” Andy whispered to me. He was sitting cross legged in the circle, making judgements about the people that were participating in the game. I assumed he didn’t find Jerry, or make up with him, because he’s stuck with me. I shouldn’t be here, I should have followed my gut feeling and stayed home to pester Tyler.

Around me, people were starting to leave, considering it was two in the morning, and Hannah's house was away from any forms of civilization. Sure, she lived in a fancy neighborhood, but no one seemed to be home half the time in her neighborhood. I sighed, drinking my can of Dr. Pepper, praying that this game would end before I even got landed on or had to spin.

I don't exactly have the best experience with this game. No one ever wanted to kiss Ally, and as much as I pretended I didn't care, I honestly did. There was something about wanting a boy to like you that probably ruined how you felt about yourself.

Stupid hormones.

“Ryder, spin the bottle.” Hannah cooed, taking me out of my trance. He shrugged her off, and took a deep sigh, spinning the bottle. Everyone watched it as it went around and around to each person.

Finally, it landed someone.

Me.

Our eyes shot up and I could feel the panic settle inside me and see a little fear in his eyes. He hesitated for a moment, but after Hannah whispered something in his ear, he rolled his eyes and walked over. It was like the room suddenly died down, wondering what was going to happen between us. Everyone knew we were best friends, it was creepy, but everyone knew our relationship was never more than friends.

Well, this is clearly changing tonight.

Thank God I managed to brush my teeth right before we left.

My eyes never left him, watching as he slowly walked over and sat down next to me. It seemed to get quiet in the circle, and I suddenly worried that they could feel how heavy my heart was beating. Ryder awkwardly sat down next to me, unsure of what to do.

“Look, we don’t-”

“Ryder, do you want to kiss me?” His face turned red and he opened his mouth to say something but closed it instantly.

“Then do it.” I whispered, looking at his pink, puffy lips. I didn’t even question what the hell was wrong with me, or what the hell was going through my head. All I could focus on was that his lips were going to be on mine, and I’m not disgusted.

I’m actually looking forward to it.

“Do you want me to?” He whispered, leaning in so closely to me I could feel his hot breath on mine. Our noses brushed and I heard his heart beating as fast as mine. So maybe I’m not the only one thinking that this is a big deal.

“Yes.” I whispered. Slowly, he pressed his lips against mine. It was gentle and sweet, as if he was scared to do it. Tingles went up my arm and my body felt like it was on fire, just like they described in all those stupid stories that never come true.

He pulled away from me slowly, looking at me. His green eyes were searching mine for some kind of answer, I didn’t wait: I smashed my lips against his. Ryder stiffened at first, unsure of what to do with my surprise attack, but then he moved his lips with mine, and our lips together felt like the most natural thing in the world.

His hands wrapped around my waist and I slid my hands through his hair. He leaned into me, as if we weren’t close enough for each other, until he had me pinned to the ground. I gasped as my back hit the floor, and he took that opportunity to slip his tongue in my mouth. A quiet moan escaped from him, causing me to kiss him harder.

Long story short, it was the hottest, best kiss ever.

“Holy shit.” Hannah slurred. We pulled away from each other, looking at Hannah. I honestly forgot that anyone else was even in the room. Ryder looked back down at me and sat himself up on the floor.

“That was hot.” Some girl with orange hair said. I was too embarrassed and too turned on to say anything, so I just sat up cautiously. Ryder didn’t wait for anymore conversation, because he bolted right out the door.

My heart sank as I watched him leave.

He regrets kissing me.

I gave a tight smile to the group and stood up, trying to figure out where Ryder would have gone.

Shit.

That’s why best friends just stay best friends.
