Chapter Twenty-One
Ryder
I needed everything to be perfect, even if the whole thing was cliché, but I needed something that would blow her mind away. Ally deserved something to take her mind off the situations she has had to deal with, with no one but myself to help her. I’ve never met someone as strong as she is, she’ll always amaze me.
I would have asked my mother’s advice, but that not only would have been embarrassing after our conversation, but it would also be sad. I needed to come up with this on my own, and if that meant that I would lay half on my bed glaring at the ceiling, then so be it.
It wasn’t until I had rolled myself off the bed to go to the bathroom that I figured out what I was going to do. It hit me like lightening and I had to steady myself to make sure I could grasp the idea. The ideas then kept running through my head and I was so excited I couldn’t even contain myself.
Tonight was going to be great.

When I arrived at Ally’s house, she was swearing at her brother, and slamming things around. I was slightly nervous, knowing that our relationship or whatever we were was complicated and it felt weird that I was taking her on a date after all this time, but I was happy. I just hope that she was happy just as well.
“Damnit, Tyler, just calm the fuck down.” She sighed. Tyler was muttering something and she flipped him off. I shut the front door, hoping that I didn’t have to knock or something polite like that. Sure, I’m trying to blow her mind but I’m not going to act all-different.
Ally looked great in everything she wore, but she looked breathtaking today. She had on a nice dress-not something fancy and over done, but a nice summer dress that hugged her in the right places. She left her hair down naturally, but tamed it and her face was only kissed with makeup. Her eyes were twinkling as she looked at me and when she noticed I was checking her out, she blushed.
“Hey.” She said shyly and suddenly I was nervous.
“You look beautiful.” I said quietly, feeling my cheeks burn as the words blurted out of my mouth.
“Thank you.” She whispered back. Tyler laughed in the background, looking up from my feet; he was sitting at the kitchen counter with a bucket of ice cream.
“Aren’t you two just so adorable?” He said sarcastically, shoving his spoon into the tub,
“Tyler, I thought we talked about this.”
“I don’t remember having any conversation with you.” He muttered.
“Look, tomorrow we can sit on the couch and talk about feelings like I do with my girl friends.” She frowned. He scowled at her, muttering words under his breath. Ally looked back at me and smiled, then looked back at Tyler.
“Go have fun, enjoy life.”
“Just make sure to take care of yourself, and Dad, okay?” She said seriously.
“I’m not in that same place anymore, Al.” He said quietly.
“Love you.” She said, kissing his forehead. He muttered the words back and Ally and I walked out together.
