Chapter 13: Study Session

Third Person POV:

January 15, 20XX

For the last couple of weeks, Kazuto has been studying for his SAT; that's schedule on the 25th of January. Just one week away. He hasn't just been studying crazy over the last couple of weeks, but stressing out. To the point he almost had some doubt in himself, but as soon as he saw the omamori that he received from Asuna. It reminded him that she was supporting him. He felt better once he knew that she was also coming to America with him.

He also knew Asuna would be able to get in easily with her smarts and grades. However, with him, it was a different story. His study habits have changed since coming back from Aincrad. Before Aincrad, his grades used to be very good, but after missing two years of school; he was no better off than starting from scratch. If he didn't score well enough to get in, it would had been meaningless for her to go to America without him.

As an extra helping hand, he and Asuna arranged a little study session later that afternoon at her house. They originally planned to study at his house, but unfortunately, both his mother and Suguha have come down with a cold with a slight cough. Both his mother and sister's cold has gotten better, but didn't want to risk Kazuto from catching their sickness that would cause him to miss the SAT.

He prepared all his books and notes into his book bag. Before leaving the house, he went to check up on both his mother and sister's condition. They appeared to be doing well; once they got a day's worth of rest.

Before Kazuto could leave the room, the two of them couldn't resist teasing him.

"Make sure to keep your eyes on your books and notes rather than your tutor, okay." His mom said. "I know she's your girlfriend and everything, but I know how boys can get when they're alone in a room with girl, especially with a girl like Asuna, but remember why you're there in the first place, okay." She teased.

"Remember that you're there to study, Kazuto." Suguha said then left out a cough, but then replaced it with a mischievous grin. "Try not to make out with Asuna for the whole day." She teased.

Kazuto blushed bright red, "If you guys are well enough to tease me while in bed, you might not be sick at all then. And it's not like that!" He protested. "I'm off studying with Asuna. See you guys later. Now get some rest, bye!" He said as he left the rooms. Before he left the house, he grabbed his keys and split his helmet on. He then carefully started the engine of his motorcycle due to the upcoming snow and icy roads up ahead.

After about 45 minutes, Kazuto made it safety all the way to the Yuki residence. He parked at his motorcycle in his usual spot and took his helmet off. He shook his hair after taking the helmet off as in an attempt to fix his hair before seeing Asuna. He even tried to use the front mirror of his bike to look at himself then felt embarrassed after realizing what he was doing.

Kazuto POV:

My face turned red after realizing this wasn't a date. I was just here for a study session. I felt embarrassed that I was already turning red right before even seeing her. I sighed. I guess I was really looking forward to meeting up with her more than I thought. I then shook those thoughts out of my head. Especially the ones that my mom and Suguha teased me about before I left the house.
