I opened my stiff and puffy eyes, the light stinging them.

No more crying. Dad wouldn't want that.

That's what I have to do. be strong.

Daniel was still sleeping, his slow breaths fanning out on my face. His strong arm was wrapped around me, holding me close to his large body. I reluctantly removed myself from his body and stood up, going to the bathroom. Daniel groaned in protest and grabbed my pillow, hugging it close to him. I took off the clothes that I had worn to the court ruling and put on a nightgown. It was light and clean, soft and smooth. It ended mid thigh and it felt good as the cool sea breeze drifted through the window. I looked up at the moon, seeing how big it was, making me feel so small and lonely. Getting goosebumps, I hugged myself and went to the end of the bed.

Daniel was snoring slightly, his eyes closed peacefully. His forehead still had a crease of concern in it. I went to his side of the bed and slowly unbuttoned his dress shirt, button by button. I swallowed, my heart thumping loudly. He stirred slightly, his eyes still hooded when he looked at me.

"What are you doing love?" his voice was deep, making my stomach clench.

"I'm just taking off your shirt. I want you to be more comfortable." I whispered.

"You're too good to me." He murmured.

I finished undoing his shirt and slowly took it off. I avoided his eyes, feeling them roam over my body.

I went to unbuckle his belt, but he jumped and grabbed my wrist. "I'll do that. I don't want you doing something you'll regret."

I nodded in agreement, but told him: "I didn't mean it in that way. I just wanted you more comfortable."

"I know you did. You're so thoughtful." he tossed the belt on the floor, next to his shirt.

"You're beautiful. Come to me," he called, pulling me into bed next to him.

I snuggled into his warm body, his scent filling my nose. I pulled my lips into a small smile. His skin was soft and warm with the blankets, filling my body with what felt like a light. He looked at me with his bright hazel eyes, orange and blue inside them like sparks. I melted.

"Just relax." he purred, rubbing my arms.

I felt myself sinking into the bed and a warm darkness falling around my like a curtain. The last thing I heard was the wind and Daniel's soft breathing.

The next time I woke up, sunlight poured in the room. The curtains were floating lightly with the breeze. Today we be an us day. I don't think I could manage much more than that.

I nuzzled my head under his chin and kissed his strong jaw. His arms tightened around me and he took my hand in his, brushing it with thumb.

"I like that," he said with a smile, his eyes still closed.

"Mm." is all I said in agreement.

We stayed like that, dosing in and out for about an hour.

I heard a knock on the door and slowly rose, disoriented. My hair was a crazy mess, and my eyes must have looked wild.

Daniel pulled me down into his mold again, his strong arms holding me tight.

"Just ignore it, they might go away." he whispered gently nipping my ear. I shivered.

"What if your mother comes in?" I asked.

"So be it. She can join us if she wants." He said chuckling. I smiled.
