“I’m so proud of you Anne. You’re everything your mother would have wanted you to be. I want you to go for weak spots. Watch the eyes, and Anne, please don’t try to change.”

“I know,” I said fixing my gloves.

“I know how others like to do it. Only do it in self defense, but then and only then, all right?”

“Yeah Dad. I know.”

The announcer began to announce me as we stood at the entrance into the ring. I rolled my shoulders and took a deep breath, seeing me on the big T.V. screen in the stands on both sides. I shook out my nerves. I had to do good. My college and adult life depended on it.

Anne Zenny!

The crowd roared, they shouted and screamed my name. People were leaning over the bars and spilling beer and screaming as strobe lights and loud music played. i looked around at them. This was the only time you could see everyone paying attention to me. Not fighting amongst each other or talking. Their eyes were on me.

I am Anne Zenny, the greatest fighter in the world.

The ring was huge. It was circular, wrapping around like an arena. There were two T.V.s across from each other, and the place was dark except for the strobe lights, phones and the lights that shown in the fighting ring. The ring had a metal cage around it, barb wire at the top. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. People were yelling and drinking and arguing and betting on who would win. This must be a big fight. Down near the ring, not too far from where we were, men sat around it in chairs, discussing among themselve. I looked closely, squinting my eyes to block everyone out. They were scouts. Pureblood scouts.

Anne Zenny!

Jett and I cheered. The crowd was super loud, people throwing things and yelling and jumping up and down. she was put on the big screen, looking around at everyone. I took her in. Her eyes were a glowing bright blue, her hair pulled back and muscles tense and ready, like a predator ready to pounce for their kill.

“These fangs suck, I keep biting my tongue,” Jett complained licking over them and frowning.

“Shh, someone could hear you.”

“Ha, not over this crowd. Are you kidding me?” He yelled Anne’s name again and I joined him and the rest of the arena.

They announced the opponent, Emmeline Liss. She appeared on the screen yelling and smiling with her fans, my ears going numb from cheering, I clapped and stood with everyone else. She was strong and muscular, banging on her chest and jumping up and down, and circling Anne once they were both in the ring.

“This girl is nuts!”

I waved Jett off. “It’s about to start.” The screens put up a large number one. Everyone cheered and cried. The fight began.

She threw the first punch. I blocked it and went in for an uppercut, but she dodged me and yanked on my hair. I cried out and fell onto the ground. I brought my leg up and kicked the side of her face before she could get on top of me. She stumbled and fell, and i got onto of her and snarled as she snapped at me, people yelling as our fangs glistened on the T.V.

“Well do this, the right way.” she hissed. With sudden force I was thrown of her and thrown into the harsh metal of the cage. I crumbled to the floor groaning but got up as quick as I fell. She quivered and shook and snarled. She changed.

“Oh my god! Emmeline changed! Look!” Jett cried.

People gasped and began to cheer for Anne to get up. She rose quickly and I sighed in relief.
