I opened my heavy eyes. I was so tired. I groaned and rolled over, feeling the pillow of the couch smother my face. I was on a couch. I sat up and looked around; I was on my couch. Justin must have brought me home. I smiled at the thought. Justin.

Oh no. “Justin!” I cried, scrambling out of the couch. Wait, if I’m home, then Justin must have met Dad. Did he know about us? I wonder what he said to him. Was he mad? I had practice too. I slowly went upstairs and put on some shorts and a t-shirt. I pulled my hair back, grabbed my shoes and jogged downstairs again. I froze when Dad cleared his throat. I don’t think I’ve ever feared my Dad so much before. He could be harsh, but he usually wasn’t extremely hard on me. But this hasn’t ever happened before either.

“Hey, you feeling better? Justin told me that you were unwell and brought you home.” He asked.

I felt a tidal wave of relief wash over me. “Yeah...I don't know what happened, I think I was just tired.”

“Take a day off. Have some soup and lay down some more.”

“Dad, I’m ready-”

“No, trust me, you deserve a day off.” He walked over and hugged me. “I love you,”

“I love you too.” I said, a little confused. “Is everything okay?”

“Yeah, fine.” He said smiling. “There was a phone call, about last night.”

“Yeah,” I mumbled, looking down.

“You got a huge scholarship to Brior University!” He said grinning.

“What?! Oh my god, are you serious?!”

“I swear.” He hugged me tightly. “I’m so proud of you.” He held me a little longer, then let go. “Go lay down, I’m going out to see a fight tonight, to see if I can start training him.”

“Okay. Ill just order a pizza or something.”

I went back up to my room. I couldn’t sleep now, I haven’t been this happy or excited, it...I dont know how long. I heard my phone beep and I saw it light up. I frowned in confusion. I have no friends to text, and only Dad texts me every now and then when I’m walking home or when I go out to be alone for awhile. Who could possibly be texting me?
