I got out of the car, Sam joining me standing behind me on my left. I looked up at the large castle, but immediately recognized it as being a little smaller and gloomier. I internally groaned and began to feel nervous. Maybe this was a bad idea.

The doors were open, and the footman’s eyes widened. “Princess Euphoria.” he whispered.

“Hello, I wish to see my parents immediately.” I said stiffly, putting on a hard shell, like I did in North America. I wanted out of here as soon as possible.

He nod us and I was lead through endless halls. The blinds were closed, and only a little bit of sunlight came through, the place lit by candles. That explained why they were so pale...creepy. The marble didn’t glow, and the smell of flowers and exotic fruit was gone. I instantly felt depressed and on edge. Here there wasn’t any phones, chatter, nothing. All the servants were quiet with their heads down.

He opened the door to a sitting room. “The King and Queen shall be with you shortly.”

“Thank you.” I said politely.

The room was a deep red color and had brown furnishing. The antique furniture and bookshelves were beautiful, but were hard to see in this darkness. Dad sat next to me and took my hand.

“Are you sure you want to go through with this?” Dad asked.

“I need to be the bigger person and know a full out war isn’t going to start in the kingdoms. With Daniel the way he is...This needs to be taken care of and I am the only one who can do it.”

He seemed nervous, almost shakey. His hand quivered in mine and I was about to ask him if he was alright, when my mother and father walked in.

“Oh, what a surprise.” my mother said sarcastically.

I straightened my posture. “Dad and I have come to clear things up.”

“Oh?” she said.

“I want the murderer. We are here to arrest him and put him under trial.”

“What makes you think we have him?”

“I know you ordered someone to do it. You are the only people who want the kingdoms to say seperate so badly.”

Father blinked. “Euphoria…”

“Don’t Phillip. She’s trying to push her way into both kingdoms.” mother said with an eye roll.

“Well we are doing an island search for him, and Darkdogs are on the island as well.”

“Much faith you have in family.” she snapped.

“A family who threw me away? The family where I had no mother? Yes, I would have faith in people that left me on a different continent.”

“We came for you when you returned! You refused to come with us.”

“Why would I want to leave Daniel for people I never met.”

“You refused to stay with your family of Darkdogs to stay with Purebloods. That is practically forbidden, unheard of..” father said softly, looking up with sadness in his eyes.

“The purebloods like me for who I am. Daniel loves me for who I am. My rightful place is with them. And one day we will conjoin the islands.”

“Do you really think they love you Euphoria?” my mother scoffed, rolling her identical blue eyes at me. “They’re using you to take over the island. So they can have it all. they will destroy our race.”
