I waited outside of the theater with Jett and his girlfriend, Zurie. Zurie was a very sweet person, but very annoying. She was never quiet, and always spoke her mind. But she was sweet, definitely sweet.

We all stood talking outside the theater for sometime, waiting for Anne. It was super cold. I moved back and forth a bit to keep warm. Was she going to blow me off? Stand me up? Maybe she had a fight or something and didn't tell me about it. I couldn't believe that. She would have told me.

“Dude, it’s freezing, lets just go inside.” Jett said, bringing Zurie closer to him.

“No. I’m waiting. You can go in if you want.”

He sighed and stayed, Zurie too cold to speak.

After a couple of more minutes, she walked up in her wool coat, her dark hair sprinkled with snow. Her bright blue eyes seemed to darken a little.

“You made it,” I said smiling.

“I said I’d come, didn’t I?”

“Yeah,” I said stupidly, staring at her.

“So...are we going to stand out here and watch cars park, or get our tickets?” She asked, a faint hint of a smile on her full lips.

“Yeah, lets go,” Jett said.

As we entered, Zurie began to open her mouth.

“Hi, I’m-”

“Zurie. You’re in my English class.”

“Oh, well that’s great! I haven’t really noticed you in class before, but we could totally sit by each other, and we could talk and study together. You know, if you want.” Zurie replied grinning.

“I don’t mean this in a mean way, but I think it’s best I sit where I’m supposed to sit.” Anne said in a low tone.

Zurie nodded, seeming a little disappointed.

I exhaled with relief and undid a little bit of my coat. Man it was cold. Everywhere, all the time, cold. Solian day was coming in a few months. The only day when it was warm enough to wear a jacket, and you could see the sun. I missed the warmth of the sun-

“Justin, buy your ticket!” Jett cried.

My hand moved automatically, giving some cashier money, and took my ticket. I knew what I was doing, but it felt like I wasn’t doing it. Zurie giggled, Anne rolling her eyes at Zurie’s high pitch laugh.

“Come on, we’re going to be late,” Jett complained.

We hurried to the theater room, and sat in around the middle. I could even remember what movie we went to see. I think it was some thriller movie where there was a blizzard and no one would go outside. Something like that. I didn’t even watch it. I couldn’t stop staring at her. And if I wasn’t staring at her, I would steal a quick glance of her watching the movie. She caught me a few times, but I tried to quickly look away. She would look at me for a few seconds, and then she would put her focus back on the movie.

She was so pretty.

When the movie was over, we exited the theater and we again out in the cold. The cold wind bit my face like a dog, but watching Anne in the cold made me feel all warm inside. The wind blew her wavy hair back, and she shrugged her scarf to cover her face a little as she hugged herself.

“Well, thanks for inviting me, I guess I’ll see you guys at school.”Anne said giving a small smile and walking away.

“Wait! Let me drive you home.”
