WARNING LONG CHAPTER

yaaaaayyy:)

18

Over the rest of the week, I had spent most of my time getting ready for the party and in the painting room. Of course Daniel was with me, watching me drawing and painting. I did a lot of pictures of him. He always rolled his eyes when I showed him ( I think he underestimated my ability) but I laughed and put them up anyway.

His mother and I went for one more dress fitting, and I felt like his mother and I are beginning to become very close. I never really had a mother, Dad always said she died having me. Daniel’s mother was also much different than Mary, Daniel’s aunt. She seemed oblivious to comments people said of her and continued on her babbling about some stupid story she was telling.

Mary and I didn’t get along very well. She didn’t even know who I was until Daniel told her (even though I didn’t know who I was either). I began to wonder why Mary didn’t just send Daniel back home. And one day I gained the courage to ask him.

“I just told them that my parents sent me to stay here and look for you, and I couldn’t contact them unless the letter went into the wrong hands. You know, the scientists. We are supposed to stay hidden away. Every since North America turned away from most of the world it’s been easier to be around other countries, you know. We get cars from Japan, clothing from France and England, do small trades, all of that. So knowing that a letter could reveal us when we had just found another safe haven, it wasn’t worth the risk.”

“They never questioned you?”

“Nope. The fear of being found again was enough for them to not question. Although I do believe my aunt called my mother and told her I was with them, just so they didn’t think I was dead. That and I knew they wouldn’t come look for me.”he said smugly.

“What? They left you?”

“Well they wanted me to find you. For a specific reason, to unite the island. If I failed, At 21 I would come home and marry a lady or whomever my father found eligible and rule.”

“But what if I was never found?”

“Well, they sent you away, under Sam’s protection. You would have been brought back at my age as well, but we probable wouldn’t be put together. You would marry someone and he would be ruled as king.”

I just nodded.

“Don’t worry. I found you, and I’m surely not letting you go now love.”

After the discussion with Daniel, I felt much better. I didn’t really wonder or worry about my family. I had my own family. Dresses were starting to grow on me.

The day of the party Daneil and I hardly saw each other. We were in bed when the maids came to get me.

I liked my hair getting done, but the tugging and pulling and chatter was getting annoying.

Finally it stopped and they began to do my makeup. Soon I began coughing and blinking. They all looked at each other and remarked: “Too much.” And then began to erase, smooth out and perfect. When they let me seen, I couldn’t believe the person I saw in front of me.

My hair was braided back in a loose bun at the bottom and the ends that had fallen out were softly curled. My eyelids had a highlight of blue and my lips were a pink.

“Oh my, you look wonderful.” The queen said grinning wildly. “Let’s go put on that dress!”

I was put into my elegant dress and I do have to admit I love it. I had a white wrap and the dress fit perfectly to my body. I couldn’t wait for Daniel to see me.
