Chapter 9

He was here.
The boy from the border.
And he looked even better now that he was decorated with jewels and medals.
His brothers were handsome as well but none of them had the boy from the border's shocking blue eyes.
Introductions began with the light king's oldest son.
"Evander my oldest son and future king."
A loud amount of cheers and approval from the people sitting around us as Evander stood and bowed.
"Bradford my second son and most skilled with a bow."
I wanted to know the boy from the borders name so badly. I tapped my foot impatiently.
I mean he was the king's son. So of course I wanted to know his name.
Cheers for the second son.
"And my youngest son Dominic."
So that was his name.
As he bowed he turned his head toward me and it must have been the first time he saw me tonight because he seemed shock.
"And I welcome Edward the king of darkness to my castle and his children."
Wait was I supposed to be introduced as well?
With flowers in my hair and small armor?
"Florence my only son."
I stood and bowed awkwardly. Prince Evander laughed and commented "Why does he have flowers in his hair!? Are you sure that is not a daughter!?"
Laughter filled the room and waited patiently for my chance to answer.
"I have flowers in my hair because my sister enjoys putting them in my hair." I answered shyly. I wanted to go home. Why was father doing this to me?
"Why can't she just do that with her mother?" A woman's voice called out.
I could practically feel my father tighten his grip on his goblet.
"Because their mother, my wife, is extremely ill and is bedridden." He practically yelled this. 
No laughter now, no clapping, just silence.
"My youngest child Rosa."
Rosa grinned brightly, unaffected by the atmosphere and bowed as well. There was no one clapping or cheering.
