Nellys POV
He hugged me, tight, and kind. I felt at home, almost safe, and how much I wanted to be like that for a little more. How could I like a hug from my bully, I hated him...wasn't that how I was suppose to feel?
Nicholas pulled away from me, and his cheeks looked embarrassed.
"I-uh-sorry...thought ya needed one, anyways I gotta go to practice" he told me as he kinda rubbed his head, nervously..
"No, it's fine, thank you..I really needed one" I told him as I could feel a blush beginning to creep up to my cheeks. It was clear we seemed like a stupid couple somehow. People in the library looked at us as if testifying to a stupid scene from the Korean dramas. Yes, I watch Korean dramas although I know nothing what they're saying so I just read subs
"Y-yeah...I better go check the book out and...go back to practice" he told me as he walked to the check out. I left all my books, not caring for them. I walked besides him until the check out,
"So you left practice to look for me? But isn't it hard to leave practice?" I asked him
"I gotta give the coach 45 push-up when I get back, that's nothing really" he told me but I could feel he didn't want to do push-ups. And I couldn't help a giggle "why are you giggling?"
"Just thought how much of a liar you can be too"
Nicholas looked at me with wide eyes but then smiled, "yeah...that's the problem with us sharing emotions to eachother..." He told me as the librarian took his book and checked it out for him."so I finish practice in like 30 minutes, I know the late bus arrives around that time, but I could take your home...if you'd like" he offered. I felt my heart beat faster. Fuck my life.
"I-uh-well-umm"
"It's faster, I know where you live, not that I'm a stalker, I just bike whenever I can. So, will you accept? And it's faster, so just accept" he told me as his green eyes gazed at me. Jesus, he was beautiful, more like good looking.
"I-guess..." I mumbled as he smiled.
"Good, meet me by the parking lot, by the field, see ya" he told me as he left the library and I didn't see him till later.

He waited for me at the parking lot, his grey shirt was perfect on him, kind of tight, but perfect. The sun was setting and he was just looking up at the sky, I would've expected him to look at his phone like any random person would nowadays.
"Hey" I managed to say, despite the fact I was admiring his figure.
"Oh, hey, I kinda thought you would bail" he said.
"I couldn't refuse a perfectly good ride home...anyways, shall we go?" I asked and he had his keys in his hands in a second. Clicking the button and the car turning on, it was a Gorgeous expensive car. Black Mercedes....I forgot he was rich.
"Stop looking surprise by my car, that's nothing" he told me as he began walking to the car. Both of us getting in. The inside of the car was absolutely clean, smelling nice, like cologne and a bit of mint.
"It's so clean...I thought boys were messy" I mumbled as I kept looking at the car. He laughed at me,
"I'm not exactly like all guys, if you know who I am. You know I can't take it as easy as normal guys" he said as he began driving.
"What do you mean 'if I know who you are'?" I asked
"Well...I'm rich, oldest son, heir to the company, I may have a sister...which is currently studying abroad, but I have certain expectation and rules to follow" he informed me as we started pulling up closer to my house. Shit...I didn't want the day to end. "Anyways, I brought princess back to her castle...i'll text you later" he told me as we just sat infront of my house.
"I-uh-yeah, I'll see you Monday" I told him as I began leaving the car. When he stopped me.
"Tomorrow, at 7, put something cute on and we will go on a date. Wherever you wanna go" he told me and I felt taken aback.
"But you have a date with Chloe-"
"She cancelled on me, saying she was going to hang out with the girls and cal"
"Oh...so she's still with cal, okay. I'll go" I told him, I don't know whether I was jealous that cal was with Chloe or that I actually wanted to be with Nicholas.
"Okay, cool. I'll text you about the details" he told me as he finally let me go and I went home.
My mother began questioning me about the Mercedes...
"I got a ride home from a guy from school, he's a.....partner. For a uh...project. He offered me a ride, so I accepted. Is that bad mom?" I asked her and her face cheered up.
"No! No! Of course not a problem, but remember to not lie to me, you know I don't want you getting pregnant at this age, besides, I was getting worried, I thought you would miss dinner" she told me as I saw she had already set the table. I smiled,
"I don't ever miss dinner, mom, cmon lets eat" I told her as I saw my dad and siblings were already seated to eat.
"We were waiting for you. Who was that?" My younger sister asked, she was cold yet always worried for me.
"Just a friend" I replied as I served myself some food.
"You mean a boyfriend?" My younger brother asked, the two were twins. But they looked nothing alike now. They were 13 years old.
"No! Ew, you know I won't date anyone. I only love fictional characters" I replied to them as I took a bite from my dinner,
"Of course, when will nelly ever get a boyfriend? I mean she's always cooped up, always fangirling over anime or k dramas and always reading, what a nerd" my sister said with a cold tone, but I knew she was testing me
"Oh! Y-yeah! But she's smart, so what boy wouldn't want her?" My brother asked. He was clearly oblivious.
"No one wants to date a girl like me, Sammy, haven't you noticed school has a hierarchy for dating and popularity?" I asked him,
"Ehh...yeah, I'm not stupid. Sandra and I know that girls are mean. They're stupid, but pretty but mean. I don't want to date a pretty idiot, ever. I want a smart kind girl, I hope I date a good girl in the future" he told me as Sandra, our sister nodded her head.
"Yeah, I want to get a cute smart nice boyfriend. But for now, I'm not interested in anyone, all boys all ugly" she said, and that was the end of that conversation.

Nicholas POV
I arrived home, it was as the usual, father was busy.
"Master, your mother is waiting for you for dinner, there are guests as well. Please go take a shower and change. The guests are waiting" my maid said as she bowed down to me. Jesus, I kinda hated this lifestyle but I had not choice and nodded. I went to my room, talking a quick shower and putting on nice clothes. Not too fancy, not too much. Just the right, teenage boy.
I walked down to dinner and bowed politely when I noticed it was a girls family. Another interview for marriage probably.
"Hello, Mr. And Mrs. Suaveterre" I said with a bow. They smiled at me, impressed at me. Like everyone does.
"Nicholas! I'm glad you're finally home, how was practice?" My sweet mother asked, she was always kind, always patient...I still didn't understand how she could bare being alone when my father and I were out and since Claire, my sister was in another country.
"Hi mom, practice was tiring as always, you know coach always puts us to work" I said with a smile as I began to sit at her side, and right in front of the suaveterre family. I saw that they had their daughter with them. Adelaide suaveterre, the youngest daughter.
"Hello, Adelaide, how long has it been?" I asked her with my most charming smile.
"Bonsoir, it's been a long time, maybe...6 years?" She said with a shyness but I knew she was being polite and trying to be sweet.
"So, Monsieur Nicholas, we would be happy if you would come to our party tomorow, it is dearest Adelaides birthday after all." They offered.
"I'm sorry, I have personal matters to attend to tomorrow" I informed them with a 'I'm sorry' tone.
"Oh, personal matters? Is it with Chloe?" My mother asked. I could see the suaveterres surprise looks and angry looks.
"No, not Chloe, mother" I told her using 'mother' so she would know I didn't want that topic touched.
"Chloe? If you'd like, she can come along," Adelaide offered with a sweet smile.
"Oh...it's not Chloe, but just a...partner project..." I mumbled
"Well, tell your partner she can come, I would not mind at all, I would be sad if you couldn't not come to my party" she told me with puppy sad eyes. I couldn't get out of it now.
"Of course...I shall bring her to your party, I will delightfully attend, miss Adelaide" I told her with a slight nod and smile. She smiled in happiness.
"Okay! Trés bien! I can't wait!" She cheered happily, as her father looked very pleased.
"It would be my honor, shall we start dinner?" I offered as I snapped my fingers, and the servants began moving quickly, beginning to serve us.

After dinner, I stayed with Adelaide alone, I walked her to the gardens of my home, and she smiled delighted,
"You know...I would be happy if you be my husband" she mumbled with blush in her cheeks. I chuckled, and smiled at her.
"I am not expecting marriage yet, Adelaide"
"Addy, please"
"Okay, addy, well I do not intend to marry so soon, you should understand that" I told her and she nodded her head.
"I understand, so I will wait for a couple more years. I must ask, have you had more marriage interviews?' She asked me, almost nervous.
"Yes. Plenty, and I haven't really accepted any girl. As you can see" I told her, and she smiled. Leaning closer to me.
"Monsieur, you are very good looking, I would like you to be at my side during my party" she said, and I knew it was a request.
"Sorry, I wanted to stay with-" I began saying but she smirked
"ce n'est pas une demande, c'est un ordre" she said. Meaning  'it's not a request, it's an order'
"On one condition" I replied, knowing that if I rejected. She could tell her parents and they would stop being my fathers clients.
"Oui?" She asked with a sweet smile, now I knew it was a façade.
"I get to keep my partner at my side. If I can't, I won't stay with you" I told her, she seemed to be thinking for a second. She seemed annoyed by the offer.
"Okay. I will accept" she replied as she began walking back towards the mansion. Jesus, I wanted this night to end and soon. She went into the mansion first when I saw my personal butler  more like friend and I smiled.
"Hey, Ian. What's up?" I asked him, he was my friend at school, as well as here. The only person I could trust. He didn't like football, so he did soccer, but he was also my cousin, although he acted a lot more like a butler sometimes.
"Just got back from being with Cal, who was with Chloe. I got dragged into that by her friend, Tiffany. I was dying man, so much shopping. So, Adelaide suaveterre, what she want?" Ian asked,
"For me to be her escort during her party tomorrow, but I wanted to go out with nelly" I told him and his eyes widened.
"No...way....nerds and you? But don't you hate her? She has beaten your score since the beginning of freshman year, in every final except athletics." Ian reminded me
"I know. Just stuff happened, and we ended up being okay with eachother"  I told him, as my cheeks slightly reddened in embarrassment.
"Nelly is cute, yeah, have you seen her without her glasses? Damn cutie, but what happened? You need to tell me later, right now you have stuff to deal with, you know that Adelaide girl is a trap" Ian reminded me as I nodded and went into the mansion, trying to stay with Adelaide, to seem like a good host.
