Ch. 29 I never loved you

Lindsy threw the documents onto the table the next day, around lunch. Nick looked at them confused,
"What are these?" Nick asked

"Look at them." Lindsy ordered with a confident smile upon her lips. Nick took the documents and opened them beginning to read them, his eyes opening wide with surprise. In the documents, Nellys records about her being in a therapist hospital that helped with mental illnesses such as anorexia, bulimia, suicide etc.

"Where did you get these? These are confidential." Nick commented and Lindsy smiled.

"I have my sources. I told you your nerd girl was nothing but pathetic" Lindsy said with a smile.

"What are you going to do with these?" Nick asked worried

"The question is what can I NOT do with them. Like show them to her college choice, or her entire school. I bet you didn't know she wanted to kill herself after the first 3 months of school" Lindsy told him with a cruel smile.

"I...didn't." Nick replied, as he remembered that the first three months of school in freshman year were about the times he had bullied nelly to the maximum. He had made fun of her in every class he had with her, caused other to bully her. He even bullied her after school whenever he felt like it.

"She's truly pathetic. So, will you marry me now?" Lindsy asked in a confident tone that made Nicholas cringe inside.

"You're blackmailing me into marriage." Nick stated.

"And you're letting yourself become weak, darling. I bet you didn't know all of the information on those documents" Lindsy told him. Nick looked at the documents and read how nelly had tried to overdose on pills and had cut her wrists to suicide. She had been rushed to the emergency room and had been saved, thankfully. But, afterwards, her family decided to put her into a therapy hospital during the summer before her sophomore year.
"She's quite pathetic, I still can't believe you want to love someone so flawed as her" Lindsy commented as she placed a phone infront of him.
"I invited nelly over, and she will be here very soon. I have Ian distracted with business affairs. and you. You will do my bidding unless you want those to go on her permanent records on colleges " Lindsy told Nick.

Nick looked helpless, he furrowed his eyebrows and sighed heavily.
"What do you want me to do?" He asked in defeat.

"I want you to accept our engagement today, infront of her. I want you to tell her you can't bare the sight of her, and that you love me. Best of all, tell her about the scholarship." Lindsy demanded/ requested. Her icy blue eyes looking at Nick with challenge.

Nicholas stood up from his seat abruptly. Slamming his palm against the table,setting down the documents hard.
"I WILL NOT TELL HER ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP! I WONT JEOPARDIZE HER FUTURE FOR YOUR LIKING LINDSY" Nicholas yelled at her. Lindsy smiled at her fiancés reaction.

"That is the husband I want. And you certainly shall be that. Now, shall we attend to our guests, dear?" She asked him with a smile as she could hear the maids let in a guest. Nelly.

Nelly waited in the living room patiently, she looked nervous, when Nick walked in. Nellys eyes brightened up at the sight of him, and she almost ran to hug him but she stopped as she saw Lindsy holding on to Nicks arm.
"Miss Anderson, I believe we have things to talk about" Nick told her in a strict tone.

"Nick? What's wrong? You never-"

"Sit. Down. And. Listen." Nick ordered her. Nelly sat down, worried. Lindsy sat besides Nick on the sofa across from nelly, and she gave a sly innocent smile that hid cruelty.

"Nick why was I called here so suddenly?" Nelly asked him, her brown eyes gazing at him with confusion and desperation for an answer.

"Nerd girl. Can't you understand that you were called here because I said so? Because I needed to tell you how much I'm done with you. " Nick told her in a disgusted tone. "Because you couldn't understand my message from other people, like Lindsy. She told you that I was playing with you, and yet you were stupid enough to think I wasn't." He told her as he looked at her with a strict and mean gaze that made Nelly want to hide. Lindsy smiled pleased, to see nelly so vulnerable.

"Nick- this isn't you-" nelly said as she reached out to him, as if wanting to make sure she wasn't seeing a hologram. But he slapped her hand away.

"A commoner like you needs to show some decency toward people like me. You thought I had feelings for you?" Nick asked her as if he were asking a rhetorical question.

"Nick -did I? Do something to make you mad?" Nelly asked as her dad eyes gazed at him, breaking his heart. But he had to hold his end of the bargain.

"Jesus! Nerds! You really don't get it?! Do you!? Every time I was with you, it was to kill time. Every time I invited you to social parties, it was a way to make my father mad and notice me. Now I have no use for you, I don't need you anymore." Nick told her in a cruel tone that stabbed her in the heart.

"Nick-please tell me you're joki-" nelly pleaded

"Im not. Nerds. Evertime I kissed you, it disgusted me so much. You're so weak and pathetic, remember when we were partners because of jacksons little curse. Your feelings were always messed up and bothered me, I hated them so much. Like you couldn't decided between cal and I. You're such an idiot to believe I would like you" Nick told her as he gave off a cruel smile of sarcasm.

"Nicholas! you don't need to-"

"No! Listen! I have been wanting to get this off of my chest since day one. The day we had accidentally been paired up. Your feelings disgusted me, your kisses were sloppy. You truly were-no! Are. The worst person I could've been paired up with at the time." Nick told her as he looked at her with an icy cold gaze. Nellys eyes began to well up with tears. She was speechless.
" You truly are pathetic, nerdy nelly. When did you actually think I liked you?" Nick asked her as he gazed into her hurt eyes. He was hurting her, and it was breaking his heart inside. But he had no choice.

"When you asked me out on a date- when you kissed me- when you told me-" nelly began saying when Nick cut her off. With a small laugh.

"That I loved you? When did I? Never. Because I could NEVER love you. My only love is Lindsy and I'm getting married to her" Nick told nelly, as if rubbing it in her face. It broke her heart into pieces, it was like a slap to her face. She stood up and walked towards Nick, not hesitating. Slapping him straight across the face. Her tears were already flowing down her face.

"You selfish jerk! I knew you hadn't changed, but I was so stupid to believe you. You're as cold as the awful bitch who is at your side." Nelly told him with hatred and heart broken words. Her eyes were crying, desperate to see he was joking around..but she couldn't see it. Nick looked at her, crying. He wanted to wipe her tears off, to apologize, but he couldn't.

"Get out now! I don't need you to yell at me in my own house!" Nick yelled at nelly, but she yelled back even louder.

"I HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO YELL AT YOU, YOU CALLED ME HERE! You called me here to humiliate me! right in front of my face. I have all the right to yell at you!" Nelly yelled as he voice seemed to diminish. She was tired, she wanted to get out as soon as possible.

"Go on! Yell at me! Let your stress out, it's better than you trying to go and kill yourself, again " Nick yelled at her. She got quiet at his words. Nick immediately regretted the words, but he couldn't take them back, he had to hurt her as much as possible so she could hate him. He watched as her tears flowed down her face without a sob, without a scream of sadness...he could tell she was in pain.
"Nelly I'm-" Nick began saying in an apologetic voice but she grabbed the nearest thing and threw it at him. Missing his face by a good 3 inches.

"How could you ever look at my personal record like that! I hate you! Go die! No! Better yet! Get married, with her. That icy, mean bitch! You two are so meant for eachother. I'm sorry to have held you back Nicholas. But I don't care anymore, I'm done!" Nelly yelled as she began to run for the exit, Nick extended his arm to try and stop her but he held himself back. He cou,don't go back on what he did. He couldn't. It was the decision he made to keep her safe. That was the only way to protect her, keeping her away from him....
