The days continued, summer came by. Nelly's first 3 months of waiting were up.
Nick called her almost every night unless he had an important business meeting and Ian would check up on her and slowly became her best friend. After Cal, of course..Cal started dating Chloe and the two seemed a pretty perfect couple. She would be mean and he would calm her down.
The were like fire and water, he would always cool her off and she would always bring a small excitement to his life. They were cute in a weird way....Summer was over, for her. It was true she hadn't seen cupid/ Jackson after prom...
Ivan would visit her every once in a while when she was with Ian after school. Ian hadn't gotten a girlfriend yet but he had a crush on a girl who was "interestingly beautiful and hard working " as he liked to say.5 months and 25days
"Mother. I told you I can't marry him-" Lindsy told her mother once more, but a her mother held a strict face."You don't decide that. The deal is almost done, we almost pay our debt" her mother said as nick walked into the room.
"Oh-hello m'am....I thought lindsy was alone. So I wanted to discuss some things about our future divorce-" Nick began saying as he held some paper work. Lindsy's mother looked appalled when she heard the word 'divorce'
"Divorce?! You two have decided upon this?! How dare you go against our arrangements! Divorce right after marriage!?" the woman said in a harsh tone trying to scold the two.
Nick smiled kindly. "Mrs. Harrison. We know about the debt. I know your daughter has no feelings for me, as I have none for her. We have become good friends, but I don't intend on marrying-" Nick began saying but lindsy's mother laughed cruelly
"Haha" She laughed "You think your marriage is in a couple years? Haven't you heard? Your grandfather wants to speed up the marriage, it's to take place in 1 week."
"1 week? I haven't been informed of this mother" Lindsy replied as she looked at her mother surprised and shocked
"It's been settled. By both families" lindsy's mother said as she lightly flipped her blonde her back and began walking out of the room. She stopped as she grabbed the door handle.
"My dear...daughter. I hope you do not do something stupid with this act of rebellion of yours. We cannot afford to be dishonored like this" her mother said as she never looked at her daughter and left the room.Nicholas looked at Lindsy worried and she looked itritated. "Nicholas...don't give me that look of worry. Do not worry for me. Worry for yourself." She told him as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Nick had learned with the days he spent with her, as her friend. She did that alot when she was irritated and was trying to keep her cool.
"Hey, don't get easily angry. It's not worth it" Nick told her as he moved closer to her and placed a hand on her shoulder. Giving her a kind smile. "What if...we tend a trap? For our grandparents? We will bring ivan's parents as well and get this engagement settled off and-" Nick began saying but she gave him a cold icy glare.
"And how are we going to do that." Lindsy asked but it seemed more like a harsh statement as if saying he was an idiot.
"Easy. We act as if we can't stand eachother for the next few days and they will come and lecture us. You know our grandparents have more control on our inheritance than our own parents " Nicholas informed with a michevious smile upon his lips. Lindsy looked at him, almost as if she had just been enlightened by him. Her blue eyes looking at him in surprise and enlightenment.
"You're clever!"
"Thanks! I already knew that though" Nick commented with another smile
"Oh shut up, you git. That's one hell of a clever plan! Brilliant! So when do we start arguing?" Lindsy asked with a smile of excitement. It was rare for her to smile so kindly and childish. Lindsy turned out to be a very obedient yet rebellious girl when she wanted to be. Nick had started to learn that the hard way.
"We can argue...right now? Remember. We have to make it seem real" Nick reminded her as she smiled mischievously. She nodded in agreement.
"I TOLD YOU!! I hate your bloody guts! Always thinking about some other girl! You're a barbaric brute! What are you even doing here?! Get out of my sight! Now!" She yelled as she began to argue with Nicholas, loud enough for the servant us outside to hear.
"You never understand anything I fucking try and talk about with you! This is why we can't even get married! You're such a princess believing you deserve everything! I don't even need to look at you" Nick yelled back. Lindsy held her giggles as she sighed loudly acting as if she was angry
"You know what? All I ever liked about you was your money, nothing else!"'
"I was only forced into the pathetic marriage with a pompous spoiled brat" Nick replied using an angry tone trying to fake their argument as best as possible.
"Oh really!? Pompous brat!? Me?! How dare you insult me! You're nothing but a complete idiot! A bloody fuckboy who isn't clever at all" she yelled at him. Nick slightly suppressed his laugh and continued.
"A fuckboy!? When did I ever cheat on yo-"
"Oh! The time with Jessica! Do you need me to remind you of that one peasant girl!"
"Hey! Don't mess with her! Atleast she wasn't a spoiled brat like you, your highness" Nick replied with a cruel sarcastic tone, again making it seem believable to the servants who were probably at the door hearing everything.
"No! I am going to mess with her as she was nothing but an incompetent girl who saw you for your looks and preposterous being! This is why we can't marry! You're such a bloody git! I detest you!"
"Me? A git? Is that suppose to be flirting? Oh-wait you're always such a bitch. You don't have a heart. I'm done with this conversation" Nick stated as he began stomping toward the door. Lindsy slightly gave him a thumbs up and the rend her back to him before he opened the door. Servants were by the door action no as if they were fixing paintings and cleaning furniture.
"I DONT WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE ANYTIME SOON, IDIOT!" lindsy yelled out as she ran to shut the door hard. Nick suppressed his laughter as he turned to give the servants an icy glare.
"What are you all doing here!? To work! Nothing to see!" Nicholas yelled as the servants began to scurry away and begin to walk away from their master as soon as possible. Nicholas couldn't help a smile when he began to walk away.
If their plan was successful, the servants would spread rumors enough that Nicks and Lindsy's grandparents could interfere to put the wedding back in track.5 days were left until nicks promise to Nelly was invalid...
