Ch.37: a gift

SATURDAY
Nelly kept going with her life, as usual. A bit sullen and her mother had noticed.
"Sweetie? You okay?" Her mom asked her quietly

"Yeah mom."'

"Sweetie...is this about your boyfriend?" She asked quietly

"Mom....I know you know about my long distant relationship, but he didn't call me last night. He said he would come back, but....he hasn't contacted me."

"So you're worried? Don't worry about it! I bet he is busy, he is a rich person after all" her mother reminded her , trying to make her daughter happier...but with no luck.

"Mom. I-I don't know. I have no clue anymore, no one has talked to me, not Ian, not Ivan, not Jack-"

"Oh! Jackson! The very good looking young bad boy, that one right? He left something for you" her mother said cheerfully as she went into another room and brought a box. A very nice present box, with a beautiful green silk bow.

"Mom?"

"He actually passed by today very early! And he told me to give you this! Are you sure Jackson doesn't like you?" Her mother asked cheerfully

"Mom! It's not like that" nelly exclaimed in embarrassment

"Well, you never know! Young people these days, falling in love and so on" her mother said with a giggle. Nellys mother was always kind, and never strict unless needed to. She knew about Nellys relationship, and had met nick once. He had given her a great impression and Nellys mother liked him immediately.

"Mom!! Love doesn't ex-" nelly began saying but her mother gave her a small glare. As if saying, 'you're a liar'
Nellys mom passed her the beautiful black box, that was wrapped in a green silk.
"F-fine it exists. But...it's so hard " nelly admitted as she took the lovely box

"Ooh! Open it!" Her mother said cheerfully. Nelly began unwrapping the present.

Opening the box, she took out a lovely green dress. That had an elegant decoration to it, with black beads and silver ones, that created an outline to the dress. The dress had low shoulder straps, and reminded Nelly much of a type of English dresses from back then just without so much elegance. The dress was an emerald green color like nicks eyes.
She took the note that was attached to the box's bottom.

Nelly couldn't help but smile at the note.  It was 1:45pm, and she was still in her pjs.
" shit! Mom! People will come soon for me, okay? I gotta put on this dress" nelly said as she scurried to clean her room a bit.

"Oh? Important people! Are you going somewhere?" Her mom asked worried

"I think I'm gonna get to see Nick!" Nelly said with excitement

"Nick? Isn't he in England? Why do you have to go see him? Why can't he come to you?" Her mom asked worried

"I think it's because...he's trapped in his mansion, so, can I go?" She asked in a rush.

"I-I guess so? I mean if I said no, you would go anyways" her mother said as she sighed.

"Mom, I promise I will come back and if I don't, I will definitely get someone to bring you to me. I promise I will be safe" nelly told her mother with a pleading look. "Can I go?"
