P.O.V. Callie

I was sitting between Zayn and Luke. I was a little bit turned to Zayn, since he was talking to me. Luke was leaning toward, his elbows on his knees, to keep up with the conversation between Zayn and me. Zayn wasn’t shy anymore and sometimes I thought he could calm down a bit. But he was cute and daring, I liked that. I always fell for people who dared to say what they thought and to wear what they wanted to wear. I liked unique people.

-          I like your shirt! Zayn said with a smile on his lips.

I was wearing my yin-yang shirt. He stretched out his arm and showed me his tattoos. He pointed out his yin-yang.

-          Look, we have the same. He said

-          Wow! I love tattoos! This is so beautiful. I said, tracing my fingertips on his forearm.

-          Do you have any? He said, looking into my eyes.

-          Yeah, I actually have three.

-          Show me? He said curiously.

-          Here, the first one I got was a couple years ago. I said while pulling out my foot from my shoe.

I had a tattoo that said «I’m here to stay» on my right foot with little birds flying at the end.

-          The other one is behind my neck. I said, pulling my hair into a ponytail. I got a yin-yang a couple years ago and the last one is here, I said showing off my arm. It says « We both wake up underneath the same sun».

-          Really? It’s the lyrics to your song, Luke, isn’t it? He said leaning on his knees to see Luke.

-          Yeah, it is, actually! How come you have the exact same words written on you? Luke said, looking doubtful...

-          It comes from a song. I don’t know it but it was my sister’s favourite song. I said looking at the ground.

-          Oh… And what happened? Said Zayn.

Even if it was vague, I could tell he was asking about my sister. I used the past tense on purpose. My sister wasn’t here anymore.

-          My sister’s gone now. She left a year ago. I said.

-          What do you mean? Luke said, putting his hand on my back.

-          She left for Italy and we never saw her again.

A tear fell from the corner of my eye. As soon as he saw it, Zayn pulled me into a huge hug. Luke cough behind us and Zayn released me. I turned to Luke. His eyes were on the floor. I touched his hand gently to make him look at me. Zayn’s hand was on my back. I felt extremely uncomfortable. Zayn was acting so caring and kind and I liked that! But Luke… I could tell he didn’t like it but at the same time, when I wasn’t with Zayn, he didn’t talk to me at all or so. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to hurt anybody’s feeling so I just stood up and walked toward the stage.
