Makaila was sitting there, looking at me.
- You can’t be mad at Zayn for that. She said.
- I ain’t. I just… See, I’ve always had a massive crush on him. But I met Luke and I somewhat like him. To give you an idea, if I’d talked with Zayn before meeting Luke, I’d probably be on the stage with him right now.
- Who do you like better?
- I can’t choose, Mak…
- I’ll tell you something that nobody knows. And I swear, even Calum doesn’t know about it. A month ago, the day after I went to their show in New York, I met Justin Bieber at a meet and greet and he asked me to go on a ‘date’, if I can call it like that. I met Calum before but I had to choose and even though Justin was a celebrity that I really liked, I figured I was better with Cal, he was more down to earth and he was less famous. I couldn’t picture myself with Justin, in the magazines and stuff like that. I was in the exact same situation as you now. But I really had to think about it to avoid regrets. But you know, Callie, I’ve never been that happy.
- What did you say to Justin?
- I called him the day after and explained him that I had someone in my life. He was a bit jealous but he understood and he was glad I told him right away.
- Okay, thanks Mak! I love you.
- I love you too, sis! She said, hugging me tight.
I decided what I had to do. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and tweeted «I’m so sorry, none of you should be with me» and headed to the room where I guessed the guys would be. I entered to face Ashton.
- CALLIIIIIIIIIE! He said as I put my hand on his mouth.
- You don’t have to scream, Ash! I said, laughing.
- So, how was the sound check?
- Don’t wanna talk about it. I said coldly.
- Whoa, what happened?
- Luke, can I see you for a sec.? I said, looking over Ash’s shoulder to see Luke.
- Oh oh… watch out mate! Said Calum behind Luke.
Luke was heading to the door, a confused expression on his face. They were all looking at me, standing there with my red eyes and my shaking breath.
- What’s wrong, beautiful? Said Luke, bringing his hands on my waist.
- I can’t, Luke. I don’t wanna make you suffer.
- You don’t! You actually make me really happy, Callie.
The three-tone ringtone of his iPhone rang as he pulled out his cell. He looked down at it, then looked up at me and looked back down at it.
- Your last tweet… he said, concerned.
- That’s the problem, Luke.
- I’m sure we can talk about it, Call. I’m 100% sure because I want you so bad.
- I don’t know how to say that. I actually talked about it with Makaila a couple of minutes ago. You know, Luke… I’m a Directioner, a real one. I said, smirking. And I’ve always had a huge crush on Zayn, you know it. During the sound check, he told the fans that he liked me and that for once, he really wanted a girl. That was crazy, Luke. He brought me on stage and introduced me to the fans…
My voice lagged on the last words. I looked up at him to see an upset face.
- Callie… it’s okay.
- What’s okay?
- You can go with him. I’ll be fine.
- What? No, I don’t want Zayn, Luke! I don’t.-
- I saw your eyes. That sparkle in it when you talk about him. I saw how close you were when we were in the audience.
I listened to him as the tears were running more and more down my face.
- Hey, Call! Don’t cry for this. It’s not worth it. I promise I’ll wait. Try with Zayn, go for it. If it ever goes wrong, I’ll be there for you.
- I can’t believe I’m about to let go an awesome guy like you…
- Don’t think that way, Callie. Think about Zayn. You should go and see him. If you ever have any troubles with him, just tell me.
- You’re an angel, Luke. I don’t know how to thank you.
- Just be happy and follow your heart. I’ll be happy.
I hugged him tight. I could feel his heart beat fast. Maybe he was right. Maybe I should date Zayn. Why not give it a shot. I released and went back to the stage. I felt like a bitch jumping from one to another.
