P.O.V. Mary

Back in the flat, Callie ran in her room and locked the door. I knew Call for quite a long time to know that when she locked her door, we were better not disturb her. I sat in the kitchen with Mak as I turned on the TV. SpongeBob was on and since Mak and I liked it, I let it on that channel.

-          Do you think Zayn really cheated? I asked, curious and concerned.

-          Obviously, he did. But maybe he has a good reason…

-          There’s no good reason to cheat, Mak! I said, a bit offended.

-          You’re right… And do you think Michael was cheating?

-          I don’t think so… he was probably with fans. I’ll ask him when he gets back.

-          Yeah that’s a great ide-

Mak was cut off by a knock on the door. She stood up and went to see who it was. When she opened, no one was there. She turned around to face me with a bold question mark on her face.

-          Look, there’s something on the ground. I said, pointing at the red envelop in front of the door.

She took it and closed the door.

-          It’s for Callie, you and me. Should we get Callie to come out before opening it? She says.

-          No, open it. We’ll give her later.

She ripped the end of the envelop and pulled out three sheets of paper. Each of them had a name written on it. I took mine and Callie’s one and dropped Callie’s letter on the table. I opened the letter and read it.

Dear Maryssa,

I know I’m far away from you but I want you to know that I can’t spend a single day without thinking about you. The last two months have been some of the hardest months I’ve ever spent since I was away from you. Remember, you once told me that you loved adventures and trips. Let’s have our own treasure hunt. If you follow my instruction, they’ll lead you to my heart. Ready?

1.       You should start by getting out of your flat.

2.       My friends are my everything. Go back to the place you first met them.

3.       Find the seller with a shirt the same color of my hair.

4.       Ask her the next hint.

5.       Follow the hint and you’ll find my love for you.

I can’t wait to see you when I get back.

Michael xxx

I was about to cry. I missed him so much. As soon as I finished the letter, I got out of the flat. I remembered the place where Callie and I first met Ashton and Luke. I drove to the Urban Outfitters and entered in the shop. When I got in, I jumped on the first seller.

-          Is there any seller with purple shirt? I said, rushing on every words.

-          Yeah, she’s at the dressing room upstairs. Said a guy with a shirt way too tight.

-          Thanks! I said as I went upstairs, skipping every two stairs.

When I arrived at the dressing room, a girl with purple hair looked at me, smiling. She pulled out a picture of me and compared it to my face. Seriously? Please give me the damn hint. She pulled out a piece of paper and landed it to me.

Follow the music of your heart. Xxx

The music of my heart? What? I got out of the store, confused. I leaned on a concrete wall, between two stores, and reflected on the sentence I just read. I pulled it in my pocket and looked around. I stopped my look and a random boy, sitting on the other side of the road, playing the guitar and singing. His words reminded me of a song.

-          She sleeps alone with heart wants to come home. I wish I was, I wish I was beside you.

-          That’s a 5 seconds of summer song, right? I said, eying him, looking for a hint.

-          It is. You’re Maryssa? He said in a husky voice.

-          I am. Where’s my hint?

-          Whoa. He said, laughing. Someone’s in a hurry?

-          I am, now give it to me please. I said, smiling and trying to be nice while he was playing with my nerves.

-          Here.

I took the piece of paper and unfolded it.

Go back to where we talk.

Where we talk……………….. Home? I drove back to the flat, wondering why he made me drive downtown to make me drive back to my flat right after. When I arrived, the door was locked. I looked on the door and saw a note. I took it off.

Apartment 34 xxx

I looked at the door beside. It said 34. I knocked on it once, twice. I heard someone coming.
