"Thanks captain obvious" Elis mutters.

I roll my eyes.

"You okay?" I whisper to Emily who still looks freaked out.

She swallows slowly nodding.

"I'm sorry for waking everyone up" she apologizes nervously twirling a light brown strand of hair in her finger.

"You should be. But everything happens for a reason, now we can handle who ever is on the opposite side of the door" my grandmother states.

"Are you sure it's not a branch or something?" Elis questions.

"Are you sure you aren't stupid?" I fire back.

"Well what other explanation could there be?!" she throws her hands up in the air.

"Those gates are too strong for someone to get as far as the front door" she adds.

She had a point.

But of course me being me wouldn't admit I was wrong.

Nor would I apologize.

"Those knocks against the door were too clear to be just a freaking branch or wind" I argue.

"Enough!" my grandma states.

"Let's just open the door and see what it is" she suggests.

"Everyone stay behind me and grab a heavy object" she orders.

"For Christ's sake we shouldn't be having this freaking problem. Doesn't security know how to do their job. I mean they're up there for a reason! Unless they're dreaming about crap!" I complain.

"Elias shut up!" Elis orders softly slapping my arm.

"You shut up" I order.

"How bout you both shut up so grandma could answer the dang door!" Emily joins in shutting us both up.

We follow our grandma who slowly approaches the door.

"Who?" she questions.

A throat quickly is cleared.

"It's Elvin, Evelyn" a deep manly voice informs.

He must know my grandma very well to call her by her first name.

"Elvin!?" she whispers to herself surprised even though we could still hear her.

"Lower your weapons children, the coast is clear" she assures.

We do as told waiting patiently for the door to open.

Finally a tall man came into view.

He had light brown hair just like mine and Emily's that was neatly brushed to the side, dark brown eyes, and wore a suit.

"May I?" he questions.

"Uh- of course. Please do. I haven't seen you for so long Elvin-I-what are you doing here?" my grandmother questions still sounding surprised to be having the man in her home.

The man steps in allowing my grandma to close the front door.

"I came to meet them" he informs offering us a smile.

Currently so many questions were running through my head that they couldn't be listed.

He stepped towards Elis.

"Wow you've grown so much since the last time I've seen you. You're no longer a little girl, you're a women, a very successful one I hope. You look just like her" he breathes in awe.
