Pein gave me the OK, so tonight was the night of my temporarily leave. I thought whether or not to come back to the Akatsuki. After so many years here, it started to feel like home. But even I knew there would be nothing left to come back to.

After lunch, I played a bored game with Tobi. My mind was set on leaving and not whose turn it was to move the dice.

"Tobi thinks Juno is acting weird." Tobi shook my shoulder waking me from my daydream. I blinked once recollecting my thoughts.

"Oh sorry." I apologized rubbing the back of my head sheepishly while moving my piece the appropriate number of spaces. We continued the game till he won.

I chatted with Deidara for a while, who enlighten me on the power levels of Naruto and Kakashi. He warned me to be careful and not act carelessly around them. He shared his story of having his arm ripped off.

Just as the sun began to set, I gathered most of my things and prepared myself to leave. All my feelings disappeared as I leaped branch to branch away from the place I grew accustomed to.

I didn't know where my fathers hideout was located considering he has many. The only thing I could do was keep running and to keep searching. I'll have to come across one eventually right?

As the hours progressed my chakra drained bit by bit for I used all my strength to run faster. My mind was set to meet my father immediately before dawn. Just when I was ready to quit I came across a building. I sensed a weak chakra, it was very faint even when I progressed further.

I transformed into a snake to avoid any traps hidden in the floor or walls. I slithered past a door because I heard coughing. Their chakra signature was so weak yet so familiar.

As I squirmed under the door frame I transformed back to my human self and was faced with a bed. In that bed laid my sicken father. He gave a small grunt clutching his chest.

"Father!" All my thoughts scrambled in my head as I desperately searched for a glass of water "Are you alright Sir?" I saw his glass on the nightstand and handed it to him.

"Juno?" He asked after a loud dry wheeze. I nodded at him holding his hand. "I'm fine dear. Why are you here?" He took a sip of his water.

"I figured out my purpose of the Akatsuki Sir. Project X is safe." I proclaimed wiping the sweat off his forehead with the sleeve of my cloak.  He tucked the loose strands of hair behind my ear as I gently laid him back. "You must rest now Sir."

"I'm afraid our plans have been delayed once more my dear. " He pushed me away gently not giving me a glance. "You must go now, my guest will be arriving soon."

"Yes Sir." I turned my back to him, began to take a few steps then stopped, "It doesn't have anything to do with the leaf does it?" I whispered angrily. He looked at me shocked but then smirked licking his lips with his snake like tongue.

"Hmm, in a way it does. All the information your heart desires can be accounted from Kabuto." He waved me off indicating for me to leave. "It's best you dont stick around much longer." I obeyed, leaving the room in utter disgust.

Even with my keen sight in the dim lighted hallway, I didn't see the person walking down and bumped against them. I was too lost in my own thoughts.

"Watch it." It was a guy and he sounded irritated and in a hurry. Who was he? Could he be one of father's other experiments?

Shaking it off, I arrived at my old room. It was still lightly decorated with basic furniture. I smiled as the memories all flooded back looking at my old bed. Father and I going on missions, Kabuto fixing up my wounds then stabbing me back in the same spots so I could learn to heal myself. It was just a blurry past.

Could I ever live like this again?
