Blank.
Everywhere around me was blank.
"Your here." A woman's voice said behind me.
"What the..." I turned around my expression also blank.
A woman with big brown eyes, short dark brown hair, and tanned skin stared back at me joy written all over her face.
"Indeed she is." A man said beside her. He too had dark brown hair and a mature structured face.
The woman took my hand in hers, me being frozen let her.
"Who...who are you?" I finally asked, the suspicion rising.
"You don't even recognize your own parents." She shook her head in disappointment but with a smile.
"You aren't my parents." I snatched my hand away and crossed my arms. I stared at the two of them in disbelief.
She put her hands behind her back her face now with a slight frown. She glanced at the man who looked taken back.
"I'm Ami and this is my husband Juro Hisromiki." She held his hand and they looked at me smiling.
"Who am I then?" I asked curious.
"You are Azumi Hisromiki, named after my late grandmother." Ami clapped cheerfully.
"In case you haven't figured it out, we are dead and so are you. We finally get to see our little girl all grown up in the afterlife." Juro hugged his wife close as tears began to roll down her cheeks.
"I don't even look anything like you, I can't possibly be your daughter."
"Your body isn't natural. It seems you have another set of DNA overriding ours." Ami pointed out noticing my eye markings.
"Why do you think we were the first people you met when you died?" Juro argued crossing his arms. Ami shushed him to calm him down.
"I just don't understand. Why are you dead if you're my parents?" I asked looking at them.
"An evil man wanted our clans kekkei genkai." Her eyes then turned completely white with three small green dots. Just like mines, "I had just given birth to you when a guy burst in killing us. I thought he had gotten you too. I'm just glad you are still alive." She wiped her tears away as they continued to shed.
To her surprise, I reached out and hugged her tight, burying my face into her neck.
Juro joined in on the hug giving me extra warmth. For the first time, I smiled out of pure joy. I truly felt loved and not as a mere object.
"We are your parents, whether you believe us or not."
"I believe you, dad."
We retracted our hug and stepped back from each other. Suddenly my body felt tingly. I looked at my hands seeing them become transparent.
"I guess it isn't your time yet." Mother said laughing.
"Continue to grow, give us grandchildren." Dad laughed as mother punched him on the shoulder.
"When you're ready dear." She added smiling. "We'll talk again soon."
"Not too soon. Make wise choices, live a healthy long live."
I nodded happily, with tears streaming down my pale face as I fully disappeared and my parents were no longer in sight.
