Peeta and Katniss

Welcome Home!

Katniss' POV

I am more than thankful Lilliana had passed her hearing tests and all her tests for her to be healthy and come home. She is wide awake at the moment and she looks so adorable right now that I needed to snap a picture of her ( A/N the picture I put)as Peeta straps her into her car seat, I sit next to her as she just looks at me amazed as I give her the same look.

as we pull into the drive way, Peeta carries her into the house as I open the door. as we walk in, I turn on the lights as I hear

"SUPRISE!!" says our whole family in Unison

Both me and Peeta all look at them and we are totally shocked but all we can do is smile

thank you! I say to all of them when I see my mother approaching me and peeta.

"Hey guys! I'm sorry I couldn't visit this little one when she was born. I was in the middle of a 36 hour surgery and I was so upset I couldn't see her. " my mother says

"it's fine" I say as I pick up Lilliana and I place her into my mothers arms.

"she's so beautiful katniss. she looks exactly like you when you were born" she tells me as I see tears rolling down her face "I'm so happy for you and peeta" she tells me as she hands Lilliana to finnick and hugs both me and peeta "I love you guys so much" she tells us

"we love you too"

a couple hours later

as we are all eating a delicious meal Finnick had bought from the pizzeria, the doorbell rings

"hey gale! hey Cressida!" I'm so glad you  guys came!" I say while hugging them both

"no problem Katnip. so where is the little one?" gale says exited to see his niece

"Lilliana is right over there with peeta on the couch " I say laughing while letting them both in

"Hey Gale" peeta says while smiling and shaking his hand with his daughter in his other

"hey peeta" gale says as he looks at Lilliana and smiles
"she's beautiful. can I hold her?" he asks peeta

"yea sure" peeta says handing her over to him

"hey there Lilliana. I've known your mom for a very long time and I'm so happy she has you in her life to teach how to hunt now. trust me, you'll be a natural at hunting" he tells my 3 day old daughter while laughing "here katnip" he says while handing her back over to me as we go sit back down at the table with Peeta by my side smiling at me as everyone else talks

"I love you" he whispers in my ear

"I love you too" I tell him while I kiss his cheek

"get a room brainless" I hear
Johanna say as she continues to eat as everyone laughs

a few hours later (roughly 8:00)

as everyone begins to leave once more congratulating me and peeta on Lilliana, she begins to fall asleep

as peeta closes the door, I hear him come up the stairs into our room saying "so, first night with her. this should be exiting" he says while wrapping his hands around my waist and kissing me head as we watch our sleeping daughter sleep
in her bassinet which is right beside my side of the bed so I can be right next to her

"well, let's hope she's a good baby and will sleep semi through the night" I say as I turn around in his embrace and kiss him on the cheek as I walk out of his embrace and go to our bathroom to take a quick shower.

when I'm done, Peeta is already in his Pajamas still looking over Lilliana as she is peacefully sleeping but he is talking to her.

before I open the door, I hear him talking to her saying " I love you my baby girl. you will forever be my top priority. well, you and your amazing mother. you don't know it do you. how lucky you are to have her as a mother. I am forever great full I have her in my life let alone you. even though I've only met you three days ago, I already know I will love you till the day I die. I know I will never stop thanking your mother for you because i am so great full for you and for mama.  I love you baby girl" he says as he kisses her head softly and turns around to get on his side of our bed as he sees me watching him smiling with tears in my eyes

"how much of that did you hear?" he asks me

"everything peeta. everything" I say as I walk over to him and kiss him while smiling

"I love you. and I love lilliana" I say

"me too baby. me too"
he says as he wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me tight next to him

3:00 am

"WAAAAAAAA" Lilliana screams for the second time tonight

I got her I tell peeta as he wakes up with me

"come here baby" I tell my baby girl who can't stop crying"it's okay. shhhhh. it's okay I'm here" i tell her as she stops crying and I put her back in her bassinet

as I climb back into our bed, peeta says "well, guess it's gonna be a long night" says peeta as we climb back into bed and holds me tight
