Peeta and Katniss

Always

(Katniss' POV)

Lilliana just turned two weeks old and Peeta and I have been extremely exhausted. My mother occasionally stops by to see how us and Lilliana are doing and she even helped us the first week she was home by staying with us and teaching us everything first time parents should know and me and Peeta are extremely grateful because without her help, we wouldn't be able to handle the things we now know how to handle.

right now, Peeta is holding Lilliana in his arms in the living room while I make some tea for both Peeta and I.

"Peeta." I say to him as I shake his arm softly knowing he is sleeping and Lilliana is laying on his chest also sleeping

as he starts to wake, I take sleeping Lilliana off his chest and cradle her in my arms making she's she doesn't wake up.

"yea?" he tells me in his tired voice

"I'm putting Lilliana upstairs and in her crib. she is finally sleeping" I tell hi as I start to walk upstairs into our room"drink your tea then meet me upstairs so we can get some sleep for ourselves" I tell him quietly making sure I don't wake her up.

"okay I love you." he tells me

"I love you too." I tell him

As I put Lilliana in her cot, i sing to her softly

deep in the meadow

under the willow

a bed of grass

a soft green pillow

lay down your head

and close your eyes

when again they open they sun will rise

here it's safe

here it's warm

here the daises guard you

from every harm

here your dreams are sweet

and tomorrow brings them true

here is the place

where I love you

i sing to her and I kiss her forehead softly and lay in our bed as I see peeta lean at our door.

"that was beautiful. you are beautiful." he says walking in bed and kissing my head

"how did we get so lucky to have her?" I ask him still not takin my eyes off of her.

"she does have an amazing mother. that must have something to do with it" he says as I wrap my arms around him and start to drift to sleep.

nightmare

i am alone in the forest. a dark, cold forest. I can't seem to move and my eyes are locked straight ahead. as I get out of the paralysis stage I was in, I start moving too the nearest tree and then I see him.

"KATNISS RUN. GET OUT OF HERE AND PROTECT LILLIANA " he screams in my face handing me Lilliana roughly.

"Peeta whats goi-" I stop as I see my husband. my love. my boy with the bread get stabbed to death by President snow

"PEETA NOOO! " I scream as I am now not able to move as I see Snow approach me taking Lilliana from my arms.

"Ms Everdeen. it's the things we love most, that destroy us." he tells me as I see my daughter getting dropped to the ground screaming the screams I never want to here. screams of help that I can't help. I try to move but can't seem to move. as snow leaves the forest, I am out of the paralysis I was in and grab Lilliana from my arms.
"baby no. I love you my darling please don't leave mama" I tell her as her breathes get shorter
"mama loves you" I tell her as I start to cry out. she now rests on Peetas chest which is no longer beating.

end of dream

(PEETAS POV)

I was woken up by Katniss' screams calling for me and Lilliana. she hasn't gotten this bad of a nightmare since before our wedding.  I hate to see her in pain and It breaks my heart that I can't wake her up right away. Lilliana is also screaming so I'm trying to calm her down. luckily I was able to do it in five minutes as I approach my way back to Katniss as she starts to stir then finally bursts up with tears in her eyes. her first move is to grab Lilliana out of her cot and hold her tightly in her arms. Luckily, Lilliana doesn't mind it

"I love you my baby girl. Mama will never hurt you" she tells her hugging her as tight as she can without harming her. "I love you I love you I love you" she tells her as she kisses her all around.

as she comes back to bed with Lilliana still him her arms she  says "Peeta please don't ever leave "she says are she pulls her body closer to me signaling for me to hug her which of corse I do

"I will never leave you." I tell her as I kiss her head as she still cries on Lilliana."I love you so much" I tell her.

after about 20 minutes later, we are still in the same position as before. I am still holding my two loves in my arms and my beautiful wife had calmed down with her crying and soon puts a sleeping Lilliana back in her cot

"do you want to talk about it?" I ask her knowing she will talk.

as she nods her head, she wraps her arm around me and lays her head on my chest listening to my heartbeat and sighs in relief.

"I was In a forest." she starts "and I couldn't see anything or hear anything for like five minutes but I knew I was in a forest. after I could move, I go to the nearest tree I could find and suddenly you hand her to me screaming at me to run. just like you screamed at me in the arena to run. as you handed me Lilliana, snow came and started"she pauses holding back tears"started stabbing you until you were sure to be dead. "I didn't know what to do. I screamed your name and layer next to you crying your name and sobbing hysterically." snow then approached me and Lilliana as I start screaming at him not to touch her but he didn't listen. I was stuck and couldn't move as he takes Lilliana from me and next thing I know, she is barely alive and is in my arms struggling to gasp for air. i couldn't take it anymore. I didn't know what to do. my two loves of my life had died right in front of me and I lost it. I never want to lose you or her Peeta. " she finishes as she sobs in my chest. Probably one of her most rough nightmares she has experienced in a while. 

"shhhh. it's okay. both me and Lilliana are perfectly fine and we are never leaving you" I tell her rubbing her back in circles which seems to calm her after a while.

"I love you.forever and always. but Peeta. please always stay with me and Lilly."

"always Katniss. always" I whisper in her ear as we both drift off in yet our next sleep.

HEY GUYS!!!!! SORRY ITS BEEN AWHILE BUT IVE BEEN SUUUUPPPPPERR BUSY STUDYING FOR STATE TESTS AND ALOT OF OTHER SCHOOL CRAP! I PROMISE TO UPDATE SOON AND TO POST LONGER CHAPTERS BUT  TILL NEXT TIME,
