"It's only if he agrees and I will make sure he comprehends the risks," Deaton said. I scoffed looking to the ceiling. I could tell how tense the others were by their silence. "Fine," I said trying to hold back the venom in my reply. "I'm sorry did you just forfeit an argument," Scott asked worried. "I can't stop you idiots, so I'll just have to monitor. Clearly none of you will learn how serious all of this is unless someone dies so fuck it," I said shaking my head. "Ange," Stiles eased. I shook my head looking up from the floor.
"We're in the back," I said hearing the bell on the fromt door. I recognized the scents immediately. Scott and Deaton looked alarmed I had invited the unannounced guests so quickly. Derek and Isaac walked in. "How does this work," Derek asked. I bit the inside of my cheek to keep from speaking. "We'll need to slow his heart," Deaton explained. "How slow," Derek asked. "Nearly dead," I deadpanned. I recieved a glare from Scott and raised an eyebrow to challenge him to test me. "Is this safe," Isaac asked, anxious after studying me. "Do you want me to answer honestly," Deaton asked. "Or would you rather guess by Angela's demeanor," Derek interjected. Isaac looked to the tub conflicted. Is he seriously considering this? Of course he is. "How about we fill it and explain the process and you can see where your at. If you don't go through with it no worries it's just water we can dump it," Stiles proposed.
Derek and Isaac stood silently as Deaton, Scott and Stiles started to fill the tub. Deaton was explaining the process and my attention was drawn by the fidgeting Stiles. I looked to see him snap a latex glove onto his hand. The others shot glares and I covered my mouth to stifle a laugh. "What," he asked and smiled at me. I bit down my smile and nodded for him to behave. Isaac agreed to do it and looked around to each of us first. He made his way to the ice. "I just get in," Isaac asked. I nodded. Derek and Scott tried to hold Isaac down as he started struggling and going back and forth shifting. I pulled Scott back and grabbed both of Isaac's shoulders. I plunged him down and kept my hands on his chest as he started to calm down. "It has to be quick and we can't run his heart rate up before it drops off," I explained calmly. My hands were so cold they started to burn. I pulled them out and he started to float back up. I took a step back wiping my hands on a towel. Stiles stood next to me, bouncing anxiously.
"Isaac can you hear me," Deaton asked as I picked at my lip. I closed my eyes focusing on his heartbeat. He described exactly what he had told us through Peter. He just filled in the gaps of details. Erica and Boyd were in what looked like a bank vault. His pulse was starting to jump. I looked to see him start to panic. Derek started trying to shout over Deaton. "Hey! Shut up! You could kill him," I hissed at Derek. He ignored all of our tries to stop him. "What do you see," Derek demanded. I lifted my hand and wound up to punch. Derek caught my wrist glaring at me. "What the hell is wrong with you," I snapped. I could feel the old werewolf fangs drop down. His grip tightened on my wrist and I growled at him to challenge his stubborn persistence. "Oh god," Isaac said, "There's a dead body in here. It's Erica." Derek dropped my wrist. Grief poured out from him and I shifted back in shock. It has to be a mistake. "I'm too late. Erica is gone," Isaac stressed. "I need some air," I tried to say. I don't know if anyone heard it and I don't care.
I slid down to my knees behind the main desk. The dream of getting shot in the leg, that was Erica. That pain a few full moons ago, the intense phantom wounds that Lydia had to experience for the first time... that was her dying wasn't it? It had to be. It was the same ice in my bones as Victoria. I tucked my knees into my chest trying to stop the tears from falling. She was only 16. She just wanted a pack. She wanted out of the wars Derek kept throwing her into. I wiped my face hearing Stiles walk out of the back room. "How are you holding up," he asked sitting next to me. I shrugged focusing on the wall across from me. "That bad," he asked. I nodded before resting my head on his shoulder. "We'll find Boyd," Stiles reassured lacing his fingers through mine. I pulled my hand away needing to keep moving.
