"You okay," I asked Liam. He nodded taking deep breaths repeating, "The sun, the moon, the truth." "How are we going to leave from the fourth floor," Clara asked softly. Liam shot her a glare and she just shrugged smiling a bit. I didn't understand the exchange but I doubt questioning it will offer any answers. We met Mason downstairs and left through the exit opposite Melissa's wing. We didn't come across that strange guy again.

We drove back to the school for the books. "Hey, what'd you do with that rat," Clara asked. "I- must have lost it in the fight," Mason said. "Melissa seemed super stressed," I noted. "Yeah, I don't think we can go back there ever again," Liam said. "I can, you probably can't," she concluded. We walked inside and Jordan seemed to be in the middle of a stand off with the same dude from earlier. "No fucking way," I muttered. "He was at the hos-," Clara started. "Hospital? Yeah he was staring you guys down," I said quietly. "Something you let out," the guy said to Parrish, "It must be stopped." He looked to us like he was hungry. Both of them bursted into flames and Liam pulled us behind him. Clara pushed forwards with flames seeming to come from her red and gold eyes. "Hellhound," I said as the two flaming men charged for each other.

I winced as Parrish was being thrown around. "I thought you said he was unbeatable," I hissed. "He was," Liam muttered. The hell hound turned to us and Clara roared taking a few steps forward. Wings of fire stemmed from her back and flames pooled around her taloned fingers. "That's so cool," Mason muttered. "Run," Liam shouted. "We're not leaving you," Mason said. "He's a hellhound run," Clara shouted. Mason grabbed me and we started running. Roars and slams came from behind us. I've spent too long running. Another slam. Why fight fire with fire? Water neutralizes it. Is my secret really worth letting Clara and Liam die? There has to be other creatures that use water divination.

"Fuck this," I said pivoting. "What? TJ," Mason called stumbling to a halt. My legs acted before my head as another thud against the lockers sounded. Clara was slamming on the guy's hand as he held her by her throat and Liam slammed him over the back with a locker door. "It's not you," the hell hound said. What does he mean? My pause let me see him wind up for another attack. I need to keep him from burning Liam. Liam had more raw strength than any of us. If he could just get close enough. I reached up for the ceiling and felt the tension of the water. I pulled my arms down and set off the sprinklers. The hellhound was no longer on fire, but remained shifted. Mason came screaming and slammed the bat down. I made an umbrella of floating ice above me as I watched the heat from the hellhound's hand melt the aluminum bat alone.

Mason was knocked down and I lifted all the water from the ground before using it like a whip to slash at the hellhound from afar. Sizzles and hisses sounded with the steam of each hit that made contact with the hellhound. Clara and Liam fought him. Clara was skewered by his claws and we both shouted for her. Liam was slashed and I raised my arms calling all the nearby water. "I've always wanted to try this," I said. I formed the water tentacle arms like in Avatar the Last Airbender and started to take on the hellhound. I repeatedly slashed and scooped almost forming an on land tidal wave. I shot both arms straight and the water circled around him like a cyclone, before I closed it in on him. I froze it all and he roared baring his fangs. The ice around me shot back and I landed on my ass trying to suck back in the wind that was knocked out of me.

I gripped onto his hand as it held my neck and tried to get it off. I held my hand in place and tried to chill his hand. A disgusting sizzle from my own flesh resisted my attempt to freeze him. "Not you," he said and dropped me. "It won't stay hidden. It must be stopped. Nothing else matters," he said before walking out. I coughed as I crawled over to Mason. "Teej what the hell was that? How did you do that," Liam asked. "Magic," I choked out and pulled some of my refined healing water out. The show was right about that being a thing. I circled it over Mason and opened his mouth. I was careful not to drown him as I circled it through his body and pulled it out as sweat to rest on his skin. "What did you do," Liam asked. "Stopped his concussion," I said tossing him a lighter. Clara was wheezing and struggling to stay awake. He started to finish up with her wounds.
