A weight lifted from my shoulders as I heard him chuckle for the first time in weeks. Everything is going to be okay. "We'll find Lydia and stop the nogitsune. Everything is going to be fine," I sighed in relief. We sat in the kitchen as the others were milling around the house, trying to catch everyone up to speed. "Angie," Stiles said quietly. I turned to look at him as his tone had shifted drastically from the puppy dog excitement a few minutes ago. "Yeah," I asked. "I still remember what I-what it did when it wasn't separated from me. What did you mean by if you die, it dies with you," he asked worried. "I was just trying to piss it off," I shrugged off. "Hey, can I steal you for a second," Allison asked walking over. "Yeah what's up," I asked kissing Stiles's forehead and walking with her.

"You've faced a nogitsune before. If the oni kill the nogitsune, will it kill Stiles," Allison asked quietly. "Well, when the oni got rid of our nogitsune, the fox was in a werewolf who was turning back into being fully human after a lot of healing sessions. The oni seemed to kill the supernatural side of him, but Stiles doesn't have that buffer. We might just have to test how Stiles reacts to pain inflicted on the nogitsune to tell," I explained. She straightened out her shirt again glancing around anxiously. "Lydia is going to be okay. We'll get her back. It won't do anything to her. If it's going to kill any of us, it's going for Scott, Stiles, or me," I pointed out. "Then why did it take her? Why her," Allison worried. "Maybe it needed the foresight of a banshee," I pointed out. "But why," Allison pressed. "Hey, don't drive yourself crazy. Sometimes there is no real answer," I pointed out. Allison sighed nodding and glanced to Isaac who lit up smiling at her. She smiled back sweetly and looked back to me. "What," she asked. "Nothing," I said quietly with a shrug. I smiled to myself. They both deserve to be happy. They make an oddly great pair.

I resigned to my room and found Stiles sitting on my bed looking at his phone. "Hey hotshot," I said causing him to jump. "You are the worst," he teased. "I love you too," I countered. I grabbed his hands before pulling them in both of mine confused. They were freezing. "Did you go out at all," I asked. He shook his head no quietly, "Why?" "You're freezing," I pointed out and tried to get my body to become a space heater. "How are you doing that," he questioned. "I learned a few new tricks," I shrugged off as I kept my arms around him like I was a koala on bamboo.

He was quiet for a while. He laid deep in thought. He was exhausted but it was almost as if he wasn't letting himself fall asleep. We laid in silence as he tried to actively stay awake. He glanced to me and looked back up. The silence remained for a few seconds."What if when I fall asleep we, like, meld back together," Stiles worried quietly. He was still staring at the ceiling. I watched his side profile and carefully took in all of his features. He was really worried. "I'm not scared," I said softly. "I'm terrified," he admitted turning to look me in the eyes. I bit my tongue unable to answer. "I've already hurt so many people. What if you're nightmare from last year wasn't a nightmare? What if it's right? What if you die? What if I kill Scott? I don't know if I could live with that red on my ledger Ange," he said trying to hold it together. I could see tears starting to form despite his best efforts.

I thought back to the dream. "You can, you will, you have to," I said quietly. His face dropped and a deep sadness poured from him. "Angie," he started. "Please, if not for yourself for me," I pleaded. "I can't watch you die," he said. "And I can't live knowing I failed to save you too," I shared. "There has to be another way," Stiles pleaded. "If there is we'll find it. If not, I'm not scared. I know you'll be okay. You're stronger than I am. Maybe not physically, but emotionally for sure. I couldn't get past-... If I don't make it out of this you have to keep moving," I said calmly. "Not without you," he said as his voice cracked. "I'll never really be gone," I said placing a hand on his cheek. "Whatever happens to me... It won't be your fault. I know what I'm getting myself into. I knew the risks. I chose to stay," I shared. "I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure you're okay. I'm not just going to let you kamikaze yourself for me," he insisted. "I know," I said softly, "We can talk about this more later. You need to rest now. We both do." His arms wrapped around me tightly and he took a deep breath kissing the top of my head.
